23/03/91 - London Monarchs (24) @ (11) Frankfurt Galaxy - The first ever World League game. Monarchs back-up QB Stan Gelbaugh had a big game including a 96 yard TD pass to WR Jon Horton (8, 2 Hour hi-lites, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Cone/Hardman, PAL)

25/03/91 - San Antonio Riders (34) @ (35) Orlando Thunder - In the opening game of the season for both teams, the Thunder survived a late comeback by the Riders to take their inaugural win. Led by QB Kerwin Bell (14-34-269-5 including a 75 yard TD pass on the 1st play of the game) and WR Byron Williams (4-113-3) the Thunder ran out to a 20-7 lead at half-time. But the Riders, led by QB's Jason Garrett (1 TD pass) and Lee Saltz (1 TD pass) + RB Ricky Blake (1 TD run + 1 TD catch), fought back and scored with 1:24 left in the game with the PAT set to force Overtime. But kicker Teddy Garcia missed the kick and the Thunder claimed the win. The game also marked the debut of "Helmet-Cam", worn by QB Kerwin Bell (9, 2 Discs, USA Network - Nessler/Esiason, NTSC)

31/03/91 - New York/New Jersey Knights (18) @ (22) London Monarchs - In the Monarchs 1st ever home game, they started a rivalry against the Knights that would last for 2 seasons. Both teams played aggressive defense with DB's Falanda Newton and Anthony Parker intercepting Monarchs QB Stan Gelbaugh. But with the game close, Monarchs Safety Dedrick Dodge forced 2 Interceptions to seal the win (9, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Cone/Hardman, PAL)

06/04/91 - Orlando Thunder (12) @ (35) London Monarchs - The high scoring Thunder, led by QB Kerwin Bell, were shut-down by a dominating Monarchs defense while the Monarch offense, led by QB Stan Gelbaugh (24-41-313-1), finally found it's feet. The game also featured the 1st pro TD for Operation Discovery RB Victor Ebubidike (9, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Cone/Hardman, PAL)

15/04/91 - London Monarchs (27) @ (0) Birmingham Fire - The Monarchs 1st USA road trip was a success as the Monarchs, and QB Stan Gelbaugh, dismantled the Fire (9, 26 mins, 1 Disc, USA Network - Nessler/Esiason, PAL)

20/04/91 - Montreal Machine (7) @ (45) London Monarchs - After a sluggish start, both teams exploded in the 2nd half with the Monarchs scoring on the opening kick-off and the Machine replying on their 1st drive after the break. The London defense was immense, led by LB Danny Lockett and NT Roy Hart (9, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Cone/Hardman, PAL)

28/04/91 - Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks (10) @ (35) London Monarchs - The hapless and winless Skyhawks faced the top team in the League and only trailed by 4 at the half but after Monarchs coach Larry Kennan read the riot act at the half, the Monarchs settled down and cruised home. Monarchs QB Stan Gelbaugh threw 4 TD passes (9, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Cone/Hardman, PAL)

06/05/91 - London Monarchs (38) @ (15) San Antonio Riders - The Monarchs maintained their unbeaten record with a comeback win in San Antonio. The Riders started fast, opening up a 9-0 lead in the 1st quarter, but the Monarchs countered by scoring 38 unanswered points over the 2nd and 3rd quarters to end the game as a contest. The Monarchs were led by RB Jeff Alexander (14-57-2) and WR Jon Horton (6-58-2), with QB Stan Gelbaugh (18-26-156-3) guiding the Offense. The Riders were led by RB Ricky Blake (9-40-1) and QB Jason Garrett (9-21-91-1) but suffered from 4 fumbles that the Monarchs converted into points (8, JIP 3:12 1st Quarter - no scoring missed, 2 Discs, USA Network - Nessler/Esiason, NTSC)

18/05/91 - London Monarchs (45) @ (21) Sacramento Surge - The Monarchs final road game was a successful one as the Monarchs scored the first 31 points, with QB Stan Gelbaugh (18-26-325-1) leading the charge (9, 2 Discs, USA Network - Brant/Marino/Luckhurst, NTSC)

27/05/91 - Barcelona Dragons (20) @ (17) London Monarchs - The Monarchs returned from a 2 game road-trip to the USA to face the 7-3 Dragons who knew that a win would put them in the Playoffs. 02/06/91 - Semi-Final - London Monarchs (42) @ (26) New York/New Jersey Knights - The Monarchs came back from a 17-0 deficit to blow-out the Knights and earn a spot in the World Bowl. Monarchs QB Stan Gelbaugh (5 TD passes) and WR Jon Horton (68 and 78 yard TD catches) were the offensive weapons but the defense, led by NT Roy Hart and LB Danny Lockett, was also strong (9, 1 hour 40 mins, 1 Disc, USA Network - Nessler/Esiason, PAL)

09/06/91 - World Bowl 1 - Barcelona Dragons (0) @ (21) London Monarchs - The Monarchs won the inaugural World Bowl despite being out-gained 332-245 on Offense. But it was the 6 Barcelona turnovers that did in the Dragons with MVP Monarchs Safety Dan Crossman snagging 3 interceptions, returning 1 for a TD (9, 1 Disc, ABC - Musberger/Vermeil, PAL)

22/03/92 - New York/New Jersey Knights (20) @ (26) London Monarchs - The 2 big rivals faced off in the opening game of the season. The Monarchs struggled to put away the Knights as QB Stan Gelbaugh had a rough game. 17/05/92 - London Monarchs (45) @ (13) Montreal Machine - The Monarchs finally showed the form that won the World Bowl as they scored 24 points in the 2nd quarter to blow the game wide open. QB Stan Gelbaugh threw 3 TD passes, LB Danny Lockett had 5 sacks and DB Dan Crossman had an 87 yard interception return TD in a dominant all-around performance (9, 2 Discs, Screensport - Halling/Carlson, PAL)

06/06/92 - World Bowl 2 - Sacramento Surge (21) v (17) Orlando Thunder - In a game of momentum swings, the Surge managed to turn-around a 17-6 half-time deficit and scored 15 points in the 4th quarter to take their first World Bowl title. The MVP was Surge QB David Archer (22-33-286-2) but he was also helped by RB Mike Pringle (17-84-0). Orlando were led by QB Scott Mitchell (18-41-187-2) but could only manage 35 yards rushing (9, 2 Discs, USA Network - Nessler/Esiason, PAL)

17/06/95 - World Bowl 3 - Frankfurt Galaxy (26) @ (22) Amsterdam Admirals - In a torrential downpour, Frankfurt QB Paul Justin (18-36-308-3) offset a big day from Amsterdam RB TC Wright (176 total yards) and guided the Galaxy to their 1st title. The game started badly for the Admirals as their coach, Al Luginbill, slipped and broke his collar-bone running out of the tunnel (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Halling/Carlson, PAL)

27/04/96 - London Monarchs (27) @ (20) Rhein Fire - The Monarchs recorded their first win of the season with a victory over the only other winless team in the league. London scored on Offense, Defense (a 66 yard interception return from DB Kenny McEntyre) and Special Teams (An 89 yard kick-off return from Profail Greer). The Monarchs also featured QB's Preston Jones and Frank Costa and RB Gaston Green. The Fire were led by QB Andy Kelly, WR Byron Chamberlain and RB Derrick Clark. The win was also the first for new Monarchs Head Coach Lionel Taylor (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Halling/Jaax, PAL)

11/05/96 - Scottish Claymores (20) @ (0) Frankfurt Galaxy - Both teams knew that the winner would be heading to the World Bowl and would also be the hosts. The Claymores stunned the high-scoring Galaxy with DB James Fuller, cut in training camp by the Galaxy, hauling in 3 interceptions as the defense pitched a shut-out. The Claymores were led on Offense by QB Steve Matthews and RB Siran Stacy (9, 2 Discs, SKY - Halling/Maas, PAL)

23/06/96 - World Bowl 4 - Frankfurt Galaxy (27) @ (32) Scottish Claymores - The Claymores claimed their 1st NFL Europe title with a big win over an explosive Galaxy team. The Claymores set the tone for the game on the 1st play by forcing a fumble on the opening kick-off and returning it for a TD. Claymores WR Yo Murphy (7-163-3 including a 71 yard TD catch) had a huge game en-route to the MVP award and was well supported by QB Jim Ballard (17-29-263-3) and RB Siran Stacy (22-49-0). Frankfurt were led by QB Steve Pelluer (24-37-267-3) and WR Mario Bailey (8-104-2) (9, 2 Discs, SKY - Halling/Pitts, PAL)

17/05/97 - London Monarchs (9) @ (7) Barcelona Dragons - The Monarchs upset the high-scoring and World Bowl-bound Dragons with a strong defensive performance and an outstanding game from back-up QB Kerry Joseph. Joseph led a last minute drive to the winning FG with 40 seconds left in the game (8, Low Audio, 2 Discs, SKY - Halling/Maas, PAL)

22/06/97 - World Bowl 5 - Rhein Fire (24) @ (38) Barcelona Dragons - The Dragons finally won the big one for coach Jack Bicknell as QB Jon Kitna (23-31-401-2) had an MVP day (2 versions : 8, Full Game, 2 Discs, SKY, PAL / 8, 1 hour hi-lites, 1 Disc, SKY - Halling/Baldinger, PAL)

22/05/99 - Scottish Claymores (42) @ (35) Frankfurt Galaxy - In a record-setting game at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt, the Claymores avenged their early season loss to the Galaxy with a shootout win. The teams combined for 1,073 yards of total Offense, 10 passing TD's and 11 TD's in total, and a professional football record for single game passing yards (611). Both teams were on fire in the 1st half and the Claymores went in at the break with a slim 21-14 lead. The Claymores then scored the first 2 TD's of the 2nd half to leap out to a 35-14 lead, but the Galaxy fought back to within a score with 1:24 left and also recovered the on-side kick to give themselves a chance at a tie or a win. The Claymores Defense held firm, though, and an interception in the end-zone in the final minute sealed the win. The stars for the Claymores were QB Dameyune Craig (27-37-611-5) and WR Donald Sellers (9-264-3). Craig's 611 yards were the most yards passing in a professional game, surpassing the previous record of 554 yards set by Norm Van Brocklin in 1951. The Galaxy featured QB's Pat Barnes (2 TD passes) and Jake Delhomme (3 TD passes) (8, Full game, 2 Discs, SKY - Kennedy/Baldinger, PAL)

27/05/00 - Berlin Thunder (27) @ (28) Rhein Fire - The Fire staged a big comeback from a 20-0 deficit at the half to beat the Thunder. Thunder QB Scott Milanovich (28-42-339-3) threw 2 TD pasess in the 1st half, including a 71 yarder to WR Damon Dunn (6-105-1), to open up a 20-0 lead but Rhein QB Danny Wuerffel (18-27-196-4) regrouped and led his team to victory with the winning TD pass with 1:24 remaining (9, 1 Disc, FOX - Graham/Baldinger, NTSC)

14/05/06 - Berlin Thunder (7) @ (25) Cologne Centurions - In a battle of former Texas Tech QB's, it was Kliff Kingsbury and the Centurions that came out on top. Kliff (11-17-201-1) was supported by a strong running game while Berlin QB BJ Symons (11-21-130-1) was the lone threat for the Thunder (10, 1 Disc, NFL Network - Ackerman/Huard, PAL)
