UFC 190 - At the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, reigning champion Ronda Rousey faced off against #1 challenger Bethe Correia for the Womens Bantamweight World Championship. UFC 193 - At the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, reigning champion Ronda Rousey faced off against unbeaten challenger Holly Holm for the Womens Bantamweight World Championship. In the greatest upset in UFC history, Holm beat unbeaten Rousey in the 2nd round with a TKO after battering her with her boxing skills. UFC 207 - At the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Womens Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes spectacularly retained her title with a shocking defeat of #1 challenger Ronda Rousey in just 48 seconds. UFC 229 - On the 6th October, 2018 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Khabib Nurmagomedov successfully defended his title against former Lightweight champion Conor McGregor. In the lead up to the fight there was a lot of bad blood between the 2 teams, and after Nurmagomedov won the fight on a 4th-round submission, he vaulted the ring into the crowd and waded into the McGregor support team. All hell broke loose, both in and out of the Octagon. UFC257 - On "Fight Island" in Abu Dhabi, #2 ranked Dustin Poirier gained revenge for his loss to #4 ranked Conor McGregor in 2014 with a sensational 2nd round TKO. A hard-hitting 1st round went the way of McGregor, but Poirier repeatedly went after the Irishman's right leg with kicks and it paid off in the 2nd round, as McGregor weakened and Poirier finished the fight with a combination punch which put McGregor down. Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race
2012 - Mens Race - The 158th running of the race proved the most eventful as underdog Cambridge claimed the win. The race was stopped after 10 minutes as a protester swam into the path of the boats, narrowly avoiding a potentially fatal accident. The race was held up for 30 minutes. Immediately after the re-start, the boats collided and Cambridge had one of their oars broken, effectively ending their race. Cambridge won by several lengths and when Oxford crossed the line, bowman Alex Woods collapsed in the boat and needed hospital treatment (10, 2 Discs, BBC - Legard/Topolski/Pommen, PAL)

2015 - Womens Race - For the 1st time in the competitions history, the Womens race was run over the same course as the Mens race; 4 miles and 374 yards from Putney Bridge to Chiswick Bridge. 2015 - Mens Race - The Oxford mens team completed a clean-sweep of races, beating Cambridge by 20 seconds to win their 4th race in 5 years. Both teams were even up to the halfway point when Oxford surged ahead and coasted home. 2019 - Mens Race - For the 3rd straight year, Cambridge won the boat race with a dominating win on the Thames. Cambridge started fast and took a 1/2 length lead after only 30 seconds, and despite an Oxford comeback that resulted in an oar-clash, Cambridge pulled away in the late stages of the race to comfortably win by a length. Cambridge featured two-time Olympic champion James Cracknell who, at the age of 46, became the oldest competitor to take part in the Boat Race (10, 1 Disc, BBC - Cotter/James/De Toledo, PAL)

2021 - Womens Race / Mens Race - After missing a year due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the race resumed but in a new location : The River Great Ouse in Ely, Cambridgeshire. The change of location suited Cambridge as the course, a straight 4,890 metre route, was their home training water. And the races went to form, as the light Blues of Cambridge won both the Womens and Mens race, but both by less than a length. Disc 1 is the Womens Race. 2016 - Cheltenham Festival : Foxhunter Steeple Chase - The annual race at the Cheltenham Festival for amateur riders had the added bonus of former Olympic Track Cyclist Victoria Pendelton making her debut in the race, only 13 months on from taking up the sport. In a closely fought race over 3 miles and 22 fences, the favourite "On the Fringe" ridden by Nina Carberry, won the race with Pendelton finishing in 5th Place on "Pacha Du Polder", only 3 lengths behind the winner. Netball
2019 - World Cup Bronze Medal Match - England (58) v (42) South Africa - England ended their tournament with a 3rd consecutive Bronze medal as they beat South Africa at the M&S Bank Arena. After a tight 1st Period, England started to pull away and held a 7 goal lead before comfortably seeing out the game for the win. The game was also the final match for out-going coach Tracey Neville.
