BOXING 

Muhammad Ali on Parkinson - A series of 3 interviews given by Muhammad Ali to British chat show host Michael Parkinson. The first interview is 1971, the 2nd in 1974 and the 3rd in 1981. The 1971 interview is filmed shortly after his loss to Joe Frazier and is missing 12 minutes in the middle of the show but does include his thoughts on growing up, religion and Vietnam. The 1974 interview is filmed shortly after his 1st fight against George Foreman and includes the famous religious rant about black oppression. The 1981 interview was filmed shortly after his loss to Larry Holmes. Ali is noticeably slower in movement and speech but is still sharp of mind. He shares the show with British comedian Freddie Starr. The interviews are UK-TV Gold re-broadcasts. World Middleweight Championship -
Thomas Hearns v Marvin Hagler - In a much anticipated match-up, Marvin Hagler overcame the odds to beat the big-hitting Thomas Hearns and re-claim the World Middleweight Championship. In a brutal opening round, both fighters went at it and Hearns unknowingly broke his hand. In the 2nd round, the fight settled down but in an explosive 3rd round, Hagler battered Hearns with a big right and the referee stopped the fight on a TKO. The Fight is recognised as one of the greatest of all time. World Featherweight Championship - Barry McGuigan v Eusebio Pedroza - In front of a crowd of nearly 26,000 at Queen's Park Rangers Loftus Road Stadium in London, McGuigan claimed his 1st ever World Title by beating Panamanian legend Pedroza. McGuigan had the better of the fight and knocked down Pedroza in the 7th but Pedroza held on to take the fight the full 15 rounds. World Middleweight Championship - Chris Eubank v Nigel Benn - In their 1st meeting, both fighters put on a show of hard hitting and toughness in a bid to be World Champion. World Heavyweight Championship - Mike Tyson v James "Buster" Douglas - In one of the biggest upsets in Boxing history, 42-1 underdog Buster Douglas beat the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world with a 10th round knock-out. World Heavyweight Championship - Frank Bruno v Lennox Lewis - Bruno punches a great fight and is in control upto the 7th round where Lewis catches him with a devastating punch which puts Frank out on his feet (8, 1 Disc, SKY - Darke/McCrory, PAL)

World Super Middleweight -
Chris Eubank v Nigel Benn
- In a re-match of the classic 1st fight, Benn and Eubank aimed to settle the feud. Eubank pushed Benn out of the ring in the 6th round and Benn had a point deducted for persistently throwing low punches and this point proved crucial as the judges declared the fight a draw (8, 1 Disc, ITV - Gutteridge/Watt, PAL)

World Heavyweight Championship -
Riddick Bowe v Evander Holyfield - In a rematch of the classic 1st fight, Holyfield set about trying to regain his title. Bowe started strong but ran out of puff and looked ready to crash out when "Fan Man" para-glided into the ring. The 20 minute break while order was restored allowed Bowe to recover and put up a good fight to the end. World Super Bantam-weight Championship - Prince Naseem Hamed v Enrique Angeles - Hamed ends the fight with a knock-out in the 2nd round. On the same disc as the 1995 Hamed v Perez and 1995 Hamed v Robinson fights (8, 1 Disc, SKY, PAL)

Nigel Benn v Gerald McClellan - Benn faced off against the big hitting star from the USA, but fought a brilliant fight despite a 1st round knock-down. Benn ended the fight with a knock-down of his own in the 10th, after which McClellan collapsed and was taken to hospital with a blood clot on the brain. Ricky Hatton v Kostya Tszyu

Commonwealth Lightweight Title -
Amir Khan v Michael Gomez - Amir Khan defended his title by winning a hard-hitting fight with a TKO in the 5th round. Both fighters had knock-downs and both fighters suffered heavy body blows (10, 1 Disc, ITV - Rawling/McKenzie, PAL)

Light Heavyweight Title -
Joe Calzaghe v Roy Jones Jr - Welsh champion Joe Calzaghe defended his unbeaten record with a points win over Roy Jones Jr in Madison Square Garden. Jones Jr put down Calzaghe in the 1st round but Calzaghe regrouped and started to dominate. Jones Jr then suffered a badly cut eye in the 7th round that effectively ended his challenge. Neither fighter could find the KO punch so the result went to a points decision that was won by Calzaghe (10, 1 Disc, Setanta - Croft/Woodhall, PAL)

2009
WBA Heavyweight Championship - David Haye v Nikolay Valuev - Challenger David Haye stunned the boxing world with a huge upset win over the champion from the Russian Federation, winning on a points decision. Haye was physically over-matched, conceding a foot in height and 90 pounds in weight. Haye dominated the fight, though, and despite breaking his hand in the 3rd round, he used quick feet and good combinations to keep Valuev off-balance and won the fight on points. British Heavyweight Championship - Tyson Fury v Dereck Chisora - In the battle of 2 un-beatens with identical 14-0 records, it was Fury that claimed the British Heavyweight title with a convincing points decision. Fury used a good jab and plenty of combination punches to keep Chisora at bay and his better work-rate sealed the points win. The title was the 1st for Fury (10, 1 Disc, CH5 - Farrar/Bernstein, PAL)

Commonwealth Heavyweight championship - Tyson Fury v Neven Pajkic - In the first defense of his title, Fury overcame an early knockdown to retain his title and stay unbeaten. Fury took a big punch from Canadian Pajkic in the 2nd round and went down but regrouped to batter Pajkic in the 3rd round before the referee controversially stopped the fight. Irish Heavyweight Championship - Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan - Fury defeated the home-town fighter Rogan on a 5th round TKO to win the Irish title. IBF Heavyweight Title Eliminator - Tyson Fury v Steve Cunningham - In his first fight in America, at Madison Square Garden, Tyson Fury recovered from a Round 2 knockdown to win on a knockout in the 7th round. The win kept Fury unbeaten at 21-0 (10, 1 Disc, Channel 5 - Farrar/Woodhall, PAL)

World Heavyweight Title - Tyson Fury v Vladimir Klitschko - At the Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany, British boxer Tyson Fury fulfilled his destiny with a points decision to become the undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World.
