Group match - Belgium (1) v (1) England - England dominated the 1st half with skillful attacking football and were rewarded with a goal by Rhys Murphy of Arsenal. But in the 2nd half, England took their foot of the gas and conceded an equaliser early in the 2nd half to Niels Ringoot. Neither team could find the winning goal and the points were shared. Group match - England (4) v (2) Netherlands - With the loser likely to be eliminated from the tournament, England flew out of the blocks and scored 2 quick goals from Henri Lansbury and Victor Moses. The Netherlands pulled the game back to 2-2 with goals from Luciano Narsingh and Luis Pedro but England re-found their scoring touch in the 2nd half with further goals from Moses and substitute Tristan Plummer to take the win. Semi-Final - England (1) v (0) France - England booked their place in the final with a crisp 1st half of attacking football. The goal came in the 10th minute from a volley from Victor Moses. But France got their act together in the 2nd half, hitting the bar and missing chance after chance to snatch the win. England held on and reached the final for the 1st time since 1993. Final - Spain (1) v (0) England - Both teams played within themselves in the 1st half but a 2nd half goal from Bojan Krkic of Barcelona brought the game to life. Final - France (0) v (4) Spain - Spain equalled the record for margin of victory with a fantastic display of attacking football against the favourites. Group B - England (0) v (4) Germany - The hosts Germany rode a dominating display against the English to qualify for the Semi-Finals. After early English pressure, Germany scored 2 goals in each half to take control. The goals came from Robert Labus, Lennart Thy, Kevin Scheidhauer and Mario Götze. Germany also featured Liverpool Youth player Christopher Buchtmann who set up 3 of the goals. England featured Jack Wilshire and Jonjo Shelvey (10, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Boyce/Hamilton, PAL)

Semi-Final - Switzerland (1) v (2) Netherlands - The Dutch secured a place in the Final, holding off a strong Swiss fightback. 1st half goals from Shabir Isoufi and Luc Castaignos gave the Dutch a comfortable lead but the Swiss fought hard in the 2nd half to get back in the game. A goal from Janick Kamber gave them hope but the Dutch held on for the win (10, 1 Disc, Eurosport - O'Hagan/Osman, PAL)

Semi-Final - Germany (2) v (0) Italy - The Hosts Germany advanced to the Final with a hard-fought win over the Italians. The Germans went through thanks to 2 goals in the final 10 minutes from Rheinhold Yabo and Bienvenue Basala-Mazana but were made to work for the win by a strong Italian team. Germany also featured Christopher Buchtmann. Italy featured Stephan El Sharaawy and Lorenzo Crisetig (10, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Caple/Osman, PAL)

Final - Germany (2) v (1) Netherlands - The hosts Germany won their first ever U17 European Championship with an extra-time win over the Dutch. The Netherlands started strong with a goal on 7 minutes by Luc Castaignos but the Germans equalised with a goal from Lennart Thy just before the half. A scoreless 2nd half saw extra-time needed and 3 minutes from the end, Florian Trinks hit a superb free-kick to win the game. Semi-Final - Netherlands (1) v (0) England - England bowed out of the European Championships with defeat against the Dutch. A 1st half goal from Kyle Ebecilio (Arsenal) proved the difference and ended Englands' reign as Champions. Final - Germany (1) v (1) Netherlands - The Netherlands retained their title but needed a last-gasp equaliser to force penalties before beating the Germans. Germany took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd half with a goal from Captain Leon Goretzka and it looked to be the winner as the game entered injury time. Group A - England (4) v (1) Turkey - England booked a place in the Semi-Finals with a comeback win in Gozo, Malta. Group B - Germany (0) v (1) Scotland - In a huge upset, Scotland won their 1st game of the Championships with a big win against the Germans. Semi-Final - Portugal (0) v (2) England - England reached their 3rd U17 Final with a tough win against the Portuguese. Portugal dominated the 1st half, hitting the woodwork 3 times, but the English kept the game scoreless. Semi-Final - Netherlands (5) v (0) Scotland - The Netherlands booked a place in their 3rd Final in 4 years with a comprehensive win over the Scots. The Jong Oranje led 2-0 at the half and never looked like losing the game. Group D - Italy (0) v (1) England - In a driving rain storm in Burgas, Bulgaria, the current holders England opened the defense of their title with a win against Italy. A tight 1st half ended scoreless but England took the lead early in the 2nd half with a goal from substitute Marcus Edwards (Spurs) that they defended to the end. England out-shot Italy 15 to 3. Group D - England (1) v (1) Netherlands - In a re-match of the 2014 final, the honours ended even. England dominated the 1st half and took the lead in the with a Dutch own-goal. But the Netherlands re-grouped at the half and they dominated the 2nd half, securing a draw with a penalty from Reda Boultam (Ajax). England were led by Reece Oxford (West Ham) and Marcus Edwards (Spurs). Group D - England (1) v (0) Republic of Ireland - England booked their place in the Quarter Finals with a tough win against a winless Republic of Ireland. The Irish held out until 9 minutes from the end when Marcus Edwards (Spurs) curled in a shot from outside the area to settle the result. England dominated the shot count 20-9. Quarter Final - England (0) v (1) Russia - Russia ended England's reign as European Champions with a tight win in Burgas. England had the better of the game but poor finishing let them down. England had a penalty saved in the 1st half, hit the woodwork twice and out-shot the Russians 20 to 6, but Russia took their chance when it came with Aleksei Tataev (Krasnodar) scoring after 29 minutes. Final - France (4) v (1) Germany - France won their second UEFA European Under-17 Championship title with a big win in Burgas, Bulgaria. The star of the show was striker Odsonne Edouard (Paris Saint-Germain) who scored the 1st ever hat-trick in an U17 Final. France only led 1-0 at the half but dominated the 2nd half. Group C - France (0) v (2) England - England secured their 1st win of the tournament with a big game against the reigning champions. England survived early French pressure to take a 1-0 lead in at the half and, just after half-time, wrapped up the game with a penalty goal that also saw the French goalkeeper sent off. Quarter Final - England (0) v (1) Spain - Spain used a wonderful solo goal to knock out England and advance to the Semi-Finals. Spain had the better of the 1st half and scored in the 11th minute with an individual goal from Francisco García (Real Madrid), who set off from just inside the half-way line and beat several players before calmly chipping the ball over the keeper for the goal. Pool A - England (2) v (1) Israel - England opened their tournament with a tight win in Chesterfield. Both teams were tied at 1-1 at the break but England turned up the pressure in the 2nd half and a 61st minute goal proved the game-winner. The England goals came from Tommy Doyle (Manchester City) and Matty Daly (Huddersfield Town). The Israel goal came from Dan Lugassy (Maccabi Tel Aviv) (9, 2 Discs, ITV - Matterface/Ashton, PAL)

Pool A - England (2) v (1) Italy - England qualified for the Quarter Finals with a come-back win over the Italians. Italy frustrated England in the 1st half and took a 1-0 lead in at the half. England turned the game around in the 2nd half and 2 goals in 5 minutes gave them the lead they defended to the end. Pool A - England (0) v (1) Switzerland - A much-changed England side suffered their first defeat of the tournament, losing to a late goal in the 1st half. Switzerland won and converted a penalty in 1st half injury time, then defended doggedly to the final whistle as England couldn't find the breakthrough they needed. Quarter Final - England (2) v (0) Norway - England eased through to the Semi-Finals with a big win at Burton-on-Trent. A goal in each half from Bobby Duncan (unattached) and Xavier Amaechi (Arsenal) did the damage while the Defense held firm to deny Norway a chance of a come back (9, 1 Disc, ITV - Speight/Ashton, PAL)

Semi-Final - England (0) v (0) Netherlands - England were knocked out of their home tournament with a Penalty Shootout loss to the Dutch. An under-strength England team, missing Xavier Amaechi and Ethan Laird through suspension and Thomas Doyle due to injury, struggled to make many chances. England's Defense was solid, though, and the Dutch couldn't find a winning goal either. The game inevitably ended up at a Penalty Shootout, where England had their final kick saved which allowed the Dutch to win and progress to the final (9, 1 Disc, ITV - Matterface/Dowie, PAL)

2012
Group B - France (1) v (2) England - England stunned an impressive French team to book a place in the Semi-Finals. France paid the penalty for poor finishing as England capitalised on their chances and then defended resolutely to take the win. The England goals came from John Lundstram (Midfielder, Everton) and Harry Kane (Striker, Tottenham) with the France goal scored by Jordan Veretout (Midfielder, Nantes). England also featured Nathaniel Chalobah (Defender, Chelsea), Robert Hall (Striker, West Ham) and Nathan Redmond (Mdifielder, Birmingham). France also featured Samuel Umtiti (Defender, Lyon) (10, Coverage starts during English National Anthem, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Caple/Jackson, PAL)

Group B - Greece (2) v (1) England - In sensational fashion, 10-man Greece used a very late winner to book their place in the Final. England had the better of the possession and the chances but couldn't find the goals. Normal time finished 1-1 with a Greece goal from Mavroudis Bougaidis (Defender, AEK Athens) off-set by a goal for England from Benik Afobe (Striker, Arsenal). With the game destined for Penalties, Greece stunned the English with a winner from Charalambos Lykogiannis (Defender, Olympiacos) with 12 minutes remaining to take the win. Group B - Spain (3) v (3) France - Spain booked their place in their 3rd straight Final with a penalty shootout victory over the French. France forced extra-time with an injury-time equaliser then forced penalties with another late equaliser but their luck ran out as Spain won the shootout 4-2 to take the win. Group A - Netherlands (2) v (3) Spain - Spain booked a place in the semi-finals with a comeback win against the Dutch. The Netherlands took a 1-0 lead in at the half with a goal from Clint Leemens but Spain countered after the break with 3 unanswered goals from Sandro Ramirez, Alvaro Vadillo and Fede Vico. An injury time penalty for the Dutch, converted by Anass Achahbar, proved too little too late. Spain also featured captain José Rodríguez. Final - France (0) v (1) Serbia - In a big upset, Serbia claimed their 1st U19 title in Lithuania. A 2nd half goal from Andrija Lukovic proved to be the winner. Group A - Hungary (1) v (6) Portugal - In a rainy Pancho Arena, Portugal booked their place in the semi-finals with a big win over the hosts. Portugal dominated the game and built on a 2-0 lead at the half with 4 more goals in the 2nd half. The goals came from André Silva (4), Ivo Rodrigues and Gelson Martins. Semi-Final - England (1) v (2) Italy - Italy booked a place in their 1st final since 2008 with an upset win over unbeaten England. Italy left-back Federico Dimarco (Empoli) did the damage with a goal in each half, 1 from a penalty and the other from a free-kick. An Italian own-goal with 5 minutes left set the game up for a tense finale, but Italy held on for the win. Group B - Italy (3) v (3) Denmark - In a shootout in Aveiro, Italy fought back from a 1st half 3-1 deficit with an equaliser in the 90th minute that kept their hopes for qualification to the next round alive. Denmark capitalised on better finishing to edge the 1st half with goals from Rasmus Würtz, Thomas Kahlenberg and Leon Andreasen off-setting an early Italian goal from Alessandro Potenza. But the Italians fought their way back into the game and earned a draw with goals from Raffaele Palladino and an injury time goal from substitute Rolando Bianchi. Semi-Final - France (2) v (3) Netherlands - In a fantastic game of attacking football, the Dutch booked a place in their 1st ever U21 Final with an extra-time win over the French. The Dutch led 2-0 at the half with goals from Nicky Hofs and Klaas Jan Huntelaar but the French forced extra-time with 2 goals in the 2nd half from Julien Faubert and substitute Bryan Bergougnoux. The Dutch finally pulled themseleves back in front with a 2nd goal for Hofs after Faubert had been sent off and they held their nerve to see out the win. Semi-Final - Ukraine (0) v (0) Serbia and Montenegro - Ukraine won through to their 1st ever final by beating Serbia in a penalty shoot-out. Both teams were evenly matched and neither team could find the breakthrough so the game went to penalties where Ukraine held their nerve to go through 5-4. Ukraine featured Artem Milevskiy. Semi-Final - England (1) v (1) Netherlands - England took a 1st half lead on the hosts, holders and the favourites with a goal from Leroy Lita. Neither team could find the breakthrough so the game went to penalties where both teams set a world record for international competitions with a 13-12 shootout that the Dutch won to advance to the final. Semi-Final - England (3) v (3) Sweden - England qualified for their first final since 1984 with a penalty shoot-out win over the hosts. England led 3-0 at the half but Sweden fought back to force extra-time and penalties with the tieing goal in the 80th minute. England atoned for their penalty shootout loss in the 2007 tournament with a 5-4 decision with goalkeeper Joe Hart saving 1 kick. Qualifier - Azerbaijan (0) @ (6) England - England opened their qualifying campaign for Euro2013 with a big win at Vicarage Road. Goals from Craig Dawson (2), Henri Lansbury (2), Jordan Henderson and Martyn Waghorn did the damage as England built on a 2-0 lead at the half to take the win. Final - England (3) v (2) Germany - In a hard-fought game at the Tehelné pole Stadium in Bratislava, Slovakia, England retained their title with an extra-time win over Germany. England were 2-0 up in 20 minutes but Germany fought back to take the game into extra-time. 2 minutes into extra-time England scored again and this time held on to the end to win the cup.
