Group B - Korea DPR (1) v (1) England - England's first ever U17 World Cup match started brightly with Victor Moses of Crystal Palace scoring the opening goal but, in the intense heat, England faded and Korea scored in the 90th minute to earn the draw (9, 44 minute hi-lites, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Farrar, PAL)

Group B - England (5) v (0) New Zealand - England banged in the goals against an over-matched New Zealand team with 1st half goals from Danny Welbeck (2) and Victor Moses (2) and a late goal from Ashley Chambers (9, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Caple/O'Reilly, PAL)

Group B - England (2) v (1) Brazil - England faced a strong Brazilian team that had scored 13 goals in 2 games. Brazil took a 19th minute lead with a spectacular long range shot from Tales but conceded a penalty in the last seconds of the 1st half, which Henri Lansbury converted. Last 16 - England (3) v (1) Syria - England struggled against the underdog Syrians but took their chances in front of goal when they needed to and advanced to the Quarter Finals. Quarter Final - England (1) v (4) Germany - England's run in the finals ended at the hands of their bitter rivals. England were dominated from the start and Germany showed great skill in attack, wasting many chances to score but still managing to score 4 goals from Sebastian Rudy, Richard Sukuta-Pasu, Dennis Dowidat and Toni Kroos. Final - Nigeria (0) v (0) Spain - In a dull game with few chances, both teams battled through extra-time and settled the game on penalties, with Nigeria winning 3-0 to claim their 3rd U17 World Cup trophy. Group C - Rwanda (0) v (2) England - England opened their World Cup bid with a win against 1st time finalists, Rwanda. 2 goals in the 2nd half from Hallam Hope (Striker, Everton) and Raheem Sterling (Striker, Liverpool) did the damage against an over-matched Rwanda side. Sterling's goal was a cracking curling shot from outside the penalty area. England also hit the woodwork 3 times and had a shot cleared off the line (10, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Boyce/O'Reilly, PAL)

Group C - Canada (2) v (2) England - In a sensational finish, Canada kept their qualification hopes alive with a bizarre late goal. England led 2-1 with 2 minutes remaining when Canadian back-up goalkeeper Quillan Roberts punted a goal-kick downfield from near the halfway line and watched as the ball bounced over everyone's heads into the net for the equaliser. Group C - Uruguay (0) v (2) England - In the heat of Torreon, England qualified for the next round as Group champions with a big win over Uruguay. A goal before half-time from Nathaniel Chalobah (Defender, Chelsea) gave England the edge and they sealed the win with 22 minutes remaining with a goal from Max Clayton (Striker, Crewe Alexandra). Last 16 - England (1) v (1) Argentina - In Monsoon conditions in Pachuca, England booked their place in the Quarter Finals with a penalty shootout win. The teams were tied at 1-1 at the half with an early Argentina goal from Maximiliano Padilla off-set by a goal from Raheem Sterling (Striker, Liverpool). Neither team could find the winner in the 2nd half so the game went straight to penalties where England prevailed 4-3. Quarter Final - England (2) v (3) Germany - Despite a spirited fightback, England's run in the tournament ended with a loss to the high-scoring Germans. Group B - England (1) v (1) Guinea - England opened their World Cup with a draw in Coquimbo, Chile. After a scoreless 1st half where England missed a penalty, England took the lead in the 61st minute with a goal from Kaylen Hinds (Arsenal). But Guinea equalised in the 76th minute with a goal from Naby Bangoura. Even though both teams pushed for a winner, the game ended a draw (9, 40 minutes hi-lites, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Boyce/Robson, PAL)

Group B - England (0) v (1) Brazil - Brazil claimed their 1st win of the tournament with a well-taken free-kick goal in the 2nd half. Both sides were evenly matched throughout the game and it took a stunning 25 yard free-kick from Leandro with 23 minutes left in the game to break the deadlock and give Brazil the win (10, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Caple/Virgo, PAL)

Group B - England (0) v (0) South Korea - England ended their group stage with a goal-less draw in Coquimbo, a result that left them in 3rd place in the group and eliminated from the competition. England dominated the game, racking up 20 shots on goal, but they couldn't find the all-important breakthrough and the group-leading South Koreans held on for the draw (10, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Caple/Virgo, PAL)

Semi-Final - Brazil (1) v (3) England - England qualified for their 1st ever U17 World Cup Final with a comprehensive win over Brazil in Kolkata, India. Both teams were evenly matched but England made the most of their chances, taking a 2-1 lead in at the half, then finished off the Brazilians with a game-clinching goal with 13 minutes to play. The hero for England was striker Rhian Brewster (Liverpool) who scored all 3 goals. The Brazilian goal came from Wesley (Flamengo) (9, 1 Disc, BBC - Bower/Sinclair, PAL)

Final - England (5) v (2) Spain - In a sensational match at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, India, England overturned an early 2-0 deficit to win their 1st ever U17 World Cup title. England dominated possession early but Spain used 2 classic break-aways to score 2 goals in the opening 31 minutes. But England didn't give up and and continued to dominate the game and were rewarded with 5 unanswered goals, including 4 in the 2nd half, that overturned the result and sealed the win. The England goals came from Rhian Brewster (Liverpool), Morgan Gibbs-White (Wolves), Phil Foden (2) (Manchester City) and Marc Guehi (Chelsea). U20 WORLD CUP

1997 
Quarter Final - England (1) v (2) Argentina - Argentina progressed to the Semi-Final with a big win over England. Goals from Juan Riquelme and Pablo Aimar were answered by a 2nd half goal from Jamie Carragher but the game was never in doubt. Argentina also featured Walter Samuel, Esteban Cambiasso and Lionel Scaloni. England also featured Michael Owen, Danny Murphy and Keiron Dyer. Argentina would eventually finish as World Cup Champions (8, Spanish Commentary, 1 Disc, TyC Sports, PAL)

2013
Group A - USA (1) v (4) Spain - Spain started their Finals campaign with a big win in Turkey. Both teams were evenly matched but Spain were more clinical in front of goal and took a 3-0 lead in at the half with goals from Jese (2) and Gerard Deulofeu. Spain increased their lead in the 2nd half with another goal from Deulofeu before the USA pulled a goal back from Luis Gil, a great long-range effort (10, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Boyce/Bright, PAL)

Group E - England (2) v (2) Iraq - England's campaign started in frustration as they lost a comfortable lead to Iraq in Antalya. Goals from Conor Coady (Liverpool) and Luke Williams (Middlesbrough) saw England take a 2-0 lead in at the half but Iraq fought back and goals from Ali Faez and Ali Adnan saw Iraq claim a share of the points. Adnan's goal came 3 minutes into injury time (10, 48 minutes hi-lites, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Boyce/Hamilton, PAL)

Group E - Chile (1) v (1) England - England managed to force a draw against Chile to stay in contention for the next round of the competition. A 1st half penalty from Nicolas Castillo gave the Chileans a deserved lead but England equalised in the 2nd half through Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur). Despite late chances for both sides, neither team could find the breakthrough and the game ended a draw (10, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Boyce/Mills, PAL)

Group E - Egypt (2) v (0) England - England knew they needed to beat bottom-of-the-group Egypt to advance in the competition but, despite dominating the game, England conceded 2 late goals and were eliminated from the tournament. Semi-Final - France (2) v (1) Ghana - In a great game of attacking football, France booked a place in their 1st ever U20 Final. Both teams had plenty of chances and it was France that struck first through Florian Thauvin. Ghana equalised after the break through a great strike from Ebenezer Assifuah but Thauvin had the final word, winning the game in the 74th minute with his 2nd goal (10, 1 Disc, Eurosport - O'Hagan/Robson, PAL)

Semi-Final - Uruguay (1) v (1) Iraq - Uruguay ended Iraq's fairytale run in the tournament and booked their place in the final with a penalty shootout win. Iraq looked to be going to the final with a 1st half goal from Ali Adnan, but Uruguay dramatically forced extra-time with an 87th minute equaliser from Gonzalo Bueno. Neither team could find the winner so the game went to penalties where Uruguay prevailed 7-6 (10, 1 Disc, Eurosport - Boyce/Robson, PAL)

Final - France (0) v (0) Uruguay - France claimed their 1st ever U20 World Cup title with a Penalty shootout victory in Istanbul. Neither team could take their chances during normal time and extra-time so the Final went to penalties, with France holding their nerve to win 4-1. The "Golden Ball" award for the tournaments best player went to France's Paul Pogba (10, Missing the trophy presentation, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Boyce/Robson, PAL)

2017
Semi-Final - England (3) v (1) Italy - England overcame an early set-back to book their place in their 1st ever U20 World Cup Final. Italy sensationally opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, but England quickly re-grouped and in the 2nd half scored 3 unanswered goals to win the match. The England goals came from Dominic Solanke (2) (Chelsea) and Ademola Lookman (Everton). The Italy goal came from Riccardo Orsolini (Juventus) (9, 88 minute hi-lites, 1 Disc, Eurosport - ?/Robson, PAL)

Final - England (1) v (0) Venezuela - England won their 1st ever U20 World Cup with a tight and tense win against the South Americans in Suwon, South Korea. England opened the scoring in the 1st half with a goal from Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) and seemed to be heading for victory. With 6 minutes left, though, England conceded a penalty and extra-time seemed inevitable, but England goalkeeper Freddie Woodman (Newcastle) saved the kick and England held on for the win.
