World Cup Group 4 - Scotland (3) v (2) Netherlands - Scotland bowed out of the Finals despite a great performance against a strong Dutch team. The Scots needed to beat Holland by 3 goals to progress to the next round at Holland's expense. Scotland led 3-1 after 68 minutes after 2nd half goals from Kenny Dalgish and Archie Gemmill (2), his 2nd goal the classic finish after beating 3 defenders and the keeper, had cancelled out a 1st half penalty from Robbie Rensenbrink.
