Final - Arsenal (4) v (1) Birmingham - Arsenal completed a clean sweep of the inaugural WSL season with the Continental Cup added to their League title. Arsenal led 2-0 at the half with goals from Ellen White and captain Jayne Ludlow and sealed the win with 2 goals from Rachel Yankey in the 2nd half. The lone Birmingham goal came from Isobel Christiansen. Arsenal also featured Gilly Flaherty, Katie Chapman and Niamh Fahey. Final - Arsenal (1) v (0) Birmingham - Arsenal retained the Cup but needed a late winner to do so. Both teams were evenly matched and had plenty of chances to open the scoring but the woodwork and poor finishing kept the game scoreless. With extra-time looming, Arsenal's Kim Little scored to give the Gunners the lead they defended until the end, although they had 2 goal-line clearances to deny the Blues. Arsenal also featured Katie Chapman, Steph Houghton, Rachel Yankey, Ellen White and Kelly Smith. Final - Arsenal (2) v (0) Lincoln - Arsenal Ladies secured their 3rd straight Continental Cup trophy with a tight win at Barnet's Hive. Arsenal dominated the game but couldn't find the breakthrough on the scoreboard until the 76th minute when Ellen White scored. Final - Manchester City (1) v (0) Arsenal - In a big upset at Adams Park, Wycombe, Manchester City claimed their 1st ever major trophy with a big win over the holders. Isobel Christiansen scored the winner in the 73rd minute and despite late pressure from the Gunners, City held on to win. The loss was the 1st in 4 years for Arsenal in the competition. City also featured Stephanie Houghton, Jill Scott and Toni Duggan. Arsenal featured Alex Scott, Casey Stoney, Jordan Nobbs and Rachel Yankey (10, 2 Discs, ESPN UK - Bower/Ward, PAL)
2015
Final - Arsenal (3) v (0) Notts County - Arsenal claimed their 1st trophy under new manager Pedro Martinez Losa with a comprehensive win in Rotherham. Arsenal held a 1-0 lead in the 1st half when the game changed in their favour with the sending off of Notts County's Laura Bassett. Arsenal took control from that point with another goal before half-time then a stoppage-time goal at the end of the game to seal the win. 2019/20
Final - Arsenal (1) v (2) Chelsea - Chelsea beat London-rivals Arsenal in sensational fashion at Nottingham's City Ground to win their first ever League Cup. Chelsea were the better team for 85 minutes and held a 1-0 lead, but Arsenal scored a scrappy goal and momentum shifted their way. The Gunners piled on the pressure with chance after chance but, with the game deep into injury time, Chelsea broke downfield and scored the winner that won the cup. 2020/21
Final - Bristol City (0) v (6) Chelsea - Chelsea retained the Women's League Cup with a record-breaking win over Bristol City at Vicarage Road. The Blues were sensational in the 1st half, capitalising on Bristol errors to score 4 unanswered goals to go in at the break with an insurmountable lead. The pressure didn't let up in the 2nd half and Chelsea rounded out the game with 2 more goals to set the record for most goals in a final. 2021/22
Final - Chelsea (1) v (3) Manchester City - Manchester City ended Chelsea's defense of the Cup with a come-from-behind win at Kingsmeadow. Chelsea took a 1-0 lead in at the half with a Sam Kerr goal but City turned the game on its head with 3 unanswered goals in a 20 minute spell at the start of the 2nd half, and held on to win the Cup.
