Premiership - Liverpool (2) @ (2) Everton - In a feisty affair at Goodison Park, Everton kept their unbeaten start to the season going with a draw against the reigning Champions. Everton twice came from behind to earn the draw, but needed VAR to overturn a stoppage-time goal from Liverpool to win a point. The game had 2 flash-points : Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford's wild tackle on Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk tore the Dutchman's ACL and in the 90th minute, Everton were reduced to 10 men when striker Richarlison was sent off for a wild tackle. Despite heavy pressure from City the rest of the way, the Hammers defended heroically to the end to earn the draw. The Baggies equalised soon after the break with a goal from Matheus Pereira but West Ham took the lead again 15 minutes later with a goal from Michail Antonio and held off late pressure from West Brom to take the victory. Premiership - West Ham United (3) @ (2) Crystal Palace - West Ham moved up to 4th in the League with a comfortable win at Selhurst Park. After a nightmare start, where they conceded a goal after 3 minutes, West Ham took control of the game and scored 3 unanswered goals to win the game. Palace did score a 2nd goal with the last kick of the game but West Ham were never in trouble. West Ham had 17 shots on goal and also hit the post twice. Deep into injury time, with City pushing for a winner, Leeds broke quickly from the back and sensationally scored the game-winner with what proved to be the last attack of the game. Pre-Season - West Ham (1) @ (0) Brentford - West Ham won their 4th Pre-Season game in a row with a tight win against the Premiership new-boys, Brentford. After a goal-less 1st half, both teams had chances to take the lead in the 2nd half and it was the Hammers that took the lead in the 65th minute, capitalising on a loose pass to score with a 25-yard curler into the top corner. Premiership - Leeds United (1) @ (5) Manchester United - On the opening day of the season, and in front of a capacity crowd for the first time in 18 months due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, United saw off their big rivals with a strong 2nd half. The Red Devils only led 1-0 at the half but, after Leeds had equalised, they scored 4 unanswered goals in 16 minutes to take control of the game and seal the win. Premiership - Liverpool (2) @ (2) Everton - The final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park didn't disappoint, as Everton held the league leaders to a draw with a late equaliser. A raucous and passionate crowd roared the Toffees into a 1-1 tie at the break, but when Liverpool went ahead with 17 minutes to go, the home crowd feared the worst. With the game in the 98th minute, though, up stepped Everton captain James Tarkowski and he smashed in a flick-on to level the scores.
