The Saints twice came from behind to level the game with goals from Hassan Kachloul but the ending was written for Matt Le Tissier to come of the bench and score with a scorching left footer in the last minute to claim all the points. 28/09/02 - West Ham (3) @ (2) Chelsea - Bottom of the table West Ham upset the odds with a big win at Stamford Bridge. Paolo Di Canio was the hero with 2 goals, his first an awesome 30 yard volley and the 2nd a thunderous shot from a tight angle with 5 minutes to go that won the game. The game was tied 1-1 at the break with goals from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (a penalty) and Jermain Defoe cancelling out. Di Canio then scored his wonder goal after the break that substitute Gianfranco Zola cancelled out with a 25 yard free-kick. But Di Canio had the last laugh and West Ham took the points. West Ham also featured Trevor Sinclair, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Steve Lomas. 19/10/02 - Arsenal (1) @ (2) Everton - 16 year old Wayne Rooney announced his arrival onto the Premiership stage in stunning fashion with a last minute game winner to end Arsenal's 30 game unbeaten streak. The scores were level entering the 80th minute, as an early Freddie Ljunberg goal had been cancelled out by a Tomaz Radzinski effort, when Rooney entered the game from the substitutes bench. 03/05/03 - Chelsea (0) @ (1) West Ham - In a high-stakes game at Upton Park, substitute Paolo Di Canio stole the show with a late winning goal that kept West Ham in contention to stay in the Premiership. Chelsea needed a win to secure qualification for the Champions League and despite mounting pressure on the West Ham goal, couldn't find the breakthrough. Then caretaker manager Trevor Brooking brought on Paolo Di Canio off of the bench and with 19 minutes left he scored the winner. Both teams then started to play breathless attacking football and, after a close shave at the Liverpool end, the Reds broke away and Cisse scored his second. West Ham looked to be getting their 1st league win in 4 months when they took a 3-2 lead in the 85th minute but Spurs scored in the 89th minute and 4 minutes into injury time to quiet the home crowd. Any chance of a 2nd half comeback ended with further goals from Cesc Fabregas (2) and Eduardo. An injury time goal from Louis Saha helped Everton save face but the damage was done. Craig Bellamy equalised again with a curling shot, Fletcher scored again. Bellamy then thought he had earned a point when he robbed Rio Ferdinand and ran in on goal and scored in the last minute of the game.
