British Home International - Scotland (3) @ (2) England - In the final game of the tournament, Scotland visited Wembley and inflicted the first defeat on the English in 19 games. British Home International - England (3) @ (1) Northern Ireland - England opened their Home International campaign with a tough win in Belfast. England led a tight 1st half 1-0 at the break thanks to a goal from Martin Peters but the Northern Irish pulled a goal back through Eric McCordie to send the crowd wild. England then spolied the party with an immediate reply from Francis Lee and capped the game off with a penalty from Geoff Hurst that killed the game after Lee had been brought down in the box. England also featured captain Bobby Moore (50th time as captain), goalkeeper Gordon Banks, Alan Mullery, Alan Ball and Bobby Charlton. Home International - Northern Ireland (0) @ (4) England - England opened their Home International series with a big win at Wembley. England started fast with a Bryan Robson goal in the 1st minute and 3 goals in the 2nd half from Kevin Keegan, Ray Wilkins and Glen Hoddle sealed the win. Charity Match - Germany Legends (4) @ (2) England Legends - Ex-footballers and celebrities joined together to raise money for the British Red Cross and the Bobby Moore cancer fund at Reading's Madejski Stadium. Germany took a 2 goal lead into half-time but England responded with goals from Paul Merson and Lee Sharpe before the germans scored 2 late goals to win the match. Germany featured Bodo Ilgner, Lothar Matthaus and Steffen Freund. England featured Matt Le Tissier, Chris Woods, John Barnes and also MP Boris Johnson who made the tackle of the match when he rugby tackled a german player (9, 2 Discs, CH5 - Mann/Woodcock, PAL)

SoccerAid - Rest of the World (1) @ (2) England - Mixed teams of celebrities and professional footballers combined to play a charity match for UNICEF. Goals from Les Ferdinand and actor Jonathan Wilkes provided England with a 2-0 half-time lead but the Rest of the World fought back with a penalty from Diego Maradona. Hillsborough Memorial Charity Match - Liverpool Legends (3) v (1) League All Stars - Liverpool FC hosted a dual purpose Charity match to raise funds for the Marina Dalglish cancer charity and to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy. Liverpool fielded a team of Legends including Ian Rush, John Aldridge, Kenny Dalglish, Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson, Jan Molby and Peter Beardsley. The League All Stars included players that were in the Nottingham Forest team at Hillsborough that day, Everton players from the FA Cup Final that year and other ex-Professional players. These included Viv Anderson, Des Walker, Steve Hodge, Nigel Clough, Bobby Mimms, Dave Watson, Paul Bracewell, Teddy Sheringham and Alan Shearer. Both teams also included celebrities including Tim Lovejoy, Nicky Byrne, Bradley Walsh and DJ Spoony (9, Slight Pixellation in 1st half due to weather, 2 Discs, ITV - Tyldesley/Beglin, PAL)

Bobby Robson Tribute Match - Germany Legends (2) @ (3) England Legends - The stars of England and Germany's 1990 World Cup squads met to play out a tribute match to the 1990 England manager Bobby Robson and raise money for his cancer charity. Bobby attended the match in a wheelchair as he was battling cancer at the time. The England side featured 6 of the original 1990 squad, including Paul Gascoigne, Des Walker, David Platt and Peter Shilton, and was supplemented by North East legends and celebrities including Steve Howey, Rob Lee, Gary Pallister, Alan Shearer, Craig David and Jimmy Nail. The Germany side featured Guido Buchwald, Lothar Matthaus, Frederic Bobic and Thomas Helmer. Germany took a 2 goal lead in the first 18 minutes with goals from Helmer and Bobic but England responded with 1st half goals from Les Ferdinand and Alan Thompson to go in 2-2 at the break. SoccerAid - Rest of the World (2) @ (2) England - Mixed teams of celebrities and professional footballers combined to play a charity match for UNICEF. Goals from Jamie Redknapp and Teddy Sheringham gave England a 2-0 lead before goals from Boxer Joe Calzaghe and Sami Hyypia tied the game and forced a Penalty shootout. With only celebrities allowed to take part, the penalty count went to 6-6 before actor Woody Harrelson settled the game with the decisive kick. England also featured David Seaman, Alan Shearer, Robbie Williams (Musician), Ben Shephard (TV Presenter), Damien Lewis (Actor) and Jamie Theakston (TV Presenter). Charity Match - Manchester United Legends (2) @ (5) Celtic Legends - Former stars and celebrity fans of each team staged a charity match at Parkhead to raise money for Oxfam. Over 50,000 supporters saw Celtic overturn a 2-0 deficit to win, with 4 of the Celtic goals coming in the 2nd half. Celtic featured former players Henrik Larsson (3 goals), Neil Lennon, John Hartson, Chris Sutton, Lubo Moravcik and Alan Thompson + Nicky Byrne (Singer), Gerard Butler (actor) and Steve Collins (boxer). Friendly - Notts County (1) @ (1) Juventus - Juventus opened their new stadium with a friendly against English side Notts County. County were responsible in 1903 for giving Juventus their trademark black and white shirts and were invited to the game as thanks. Juventus scored first through Luca Toni but County equalised 3 minutes from the end with a goal from Lee Hughes to ensure the honours were even. England over-turned a 1-0 deficit at the half to win back the trophy they lost in 2010 with 3 goals in the 2nd half. The England goals came from Teddy Sherigham, Jonathan Wilkes and Kevin Phillips. The ROW goal came from Kasabian guitarist Sergio Pizzorno, a fantastic finish over England keeper David Seaman. The Rest of the World won for only the 2nd time with goals from Clarence Seedorf (3) and ex-Westlife musician Nicky Byrne. The England goals came from Jamie Redknapp and Kevin Phillips (Penalty). The game also featured a running battle between actor Jonathan Wilkes for England and Edgar Davids for the Rest of the World. Great Britain and Ireland XI (3) v (1) Rest of the World XI - At a packed Old Trafford, a Great Britain XI took the honours in a charity match for UNICEF. Goals from Paul Scholes and Michael Owen (2) did the damage with the only goal for the Rest of the World XI coming from Dwight Yorke. The Great Britain XI were coached by Alex Ferguson and the Rest of the World XI by Carlo Ancelotti. Great Britain also featured David Beckham, Brooklyn Beckham, Ashley Cole, Peter Crouch, Ryan Giggs and Jamie Carragher. The Rest of the World team also featured Ronaldinho, Cafu, Luis Figo, Robert Pires, Patrick Kluivert, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Clarence Seedorf (10, 40 minute hi-lites, 1 Disc, BBC - Bower/Waddle, PAL)

Germany Legends (7) v (2) England Legends - To celebrate 50 years since the 1966 World Cup Final, each country pitted a team of ex-pros and celebrities in a game at Upton Park. After a competitive opening 20 minutes, Germany scored 2 goals in 8 minutes to take an early lead. England responded by substituting freely, taking off the ex-pros and replacing them with celebrities. Germany took advantage with 4 unanswered goals before England finally got on the scoresheet in the 2nd half. Germany ran out easy winners, coasting home in the 2nd half despite good pressure from the English. The Germany goals came from Hanno Balitsch (2), Marko Rehmer, David Odonkor, Marco Reich (2) and Oliver Neuville. Both of the England goals came from Ben Cohen (ex-rugby player). Germany also featured captain Michael Ballack, goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, Jorg Albertz and Jens Nowotny. England fought back with a late goal to force a Penalty Shootout where they retained the trophy with a 4-3 win. The England goals came from Darren Bent, Jeremy Lynch and Michael Owen. The Rest of the World goals came from Robbie Keane, Juan Sebastian Veron and Clarence Seedorf. Charity Match - Milan Glorie (2) @ (3) Liverpool - In a charity match at Anfield, the Liverpool Legends scored a late winner to beat a star-studded AC Milan Legends team. Liverpool led 1-0 at the half with a Robbie Fowler goal and extended their lead in the 2nd half with a goal from Djibril Cisse. AC Milan fought back, though, and goals from Andrea Pirlo (a trademark free-kick) and Giuseppe Pancaro seemed to have rescued a draw. But with 2 minutes to go, Steven Gerrard settled the game, turning the Milan defense inside-out to score the game-winner. Liverpool also featured Jamie Carragher, Alan Kennedy, Luis Garcia, Dirk Kuyt, Steve McManaman and Michael Owen. Soccer Aid - Rest of the World (2) @ (2) England - Mixed teams of celebrities and professional footballers combined to play a charity match at Stamford Bridge for UNICEF. A fancied Rest of the World team fought back from 2-0 down to win but needed a Penalty Shootout to do so. England raced out to a 2-0 lead with 2 goals from Football Freestyler Jeremy Lynch, but the Rest of the World fought their way back into the game with goals from former athlete Usain Bolt and reality TV star Kem Cetinay, with Kem's goal coming 7 minutes from time that forced a penalty shootout. England missed 3 of their 4 kicks and the Rest of the World scored all of theirs to take the win. England also featured former players David Seaman, Jamie Redknapp, John Terry, Jamie Carragher and Michael Owen and celebrities Mo Farah (Athlete), Mark Wright (TV Presenter), Lee Mack (Comedian), Ant Middleton (Former Soldier), Joe Wicks (Nutritionist) and David Harewood (Actor). Soccer Aid - Rest of the World (1) @ (1) England - Mixed teams of celebrities and professional footballers combined to play a charity match at Old Trafford for UNICEF. The stadium was empty due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. After a tight 1st half with very few chances, the game opened up in the 2nd half, as each team fielded their celebrity goalkeepers. The Rest of the World scored first with a goal from Robbie Keane, but within 3 minutes England equalised, as Podcaster Yung Filly cooly finished from a cross from Musician James Bay. Neither team coud find a winner during normal time, so the game went to a Penalty Shootout. Each team missed 1 kick until sudden-death, when Podcaster Chunkz sent his kick wide to give the game to The Rest of the World. England also featured former players David James, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Michael Owen, Gareth Barry, Katie Chapman and Kelly Smith with celebrities Olly Murs (Musician), Danny Jones (Musician), Joe Wicks (Nutritionist), Mark Wright (TV Presenter), Lee Mack (Comedian) and Tom Davis (Actor). Soccer Aid - Rest of the World (3) @ (0) England - Mixed teams of celebrities and professional footballers combined to play a charity match at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium for UNICEF. The Rest of the World retained their title with a comfortable win against England. All the goals came in the second half, when both teams were playing their celebrity goalkeepers, with the Rest of the World goals coming from former Love Island star Kem Cetinay (2) and Comedian Lee Mack, who switched from England to the Rest of the World, and finally scored at Soccer Aid after three penalty misses in three consecutive Soccer Aid matches. The Rest of the World also featured former players Shay Given, Roberto Carlos, Patrice Evra, Pablo Zabaleta and Nigel de Jong with celebrities Usain Bolt (Athlete), Tom Grennan (Musician), Dermot Kennedy (TV Presenter), Chelcee Grimes (Musician), Ore Oduba (TV Presenter), Martin Compston (Actor), Yungblud (Musician) and Big Zuu (Musician). Soccer Aid - At the London Stadium, home of West Ham United, the Rest of the World took a 6-5 series lead with a penalty shootout win over England. In a very open and competitive game, the teams went in at the break tied at 1-1 with American Noah Beck scoring for the ROW, and Mark Wright equalising for England. England went ahead just after the break with a goal from man-of-the-match Tom Grennan, but the ROW equalised 20 minutes later from Kem Cetinay. Neither team could find a winner so the game went to penalties where the ROW won 4-1. The Rest of the World team also featured Petr Cech, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Heather O'Reilly, Carli Lloyd and Andriy Shevchenko with celebrities Usain Bolt (former Athlete), Martin Compston (Actor), Chelcee Grimes (Musician) and Mo Gilligan (TV presenter). The Beautiful Game : Team Ronaldinho v Team Roberto Carlos - At Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, football Legends Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos staged a football game, bringing together some of the greats of the game. Team Roberto Carlos won the game, 12-10. Team Roberto Carlos featured Goalkeeper Mimmo Conte, footballers Radamel Falcao, Cafu, Rivaldo and Carlos Valderrama + former NBAer Steve Nash. Team Ronaldinho featured Goalkeeper Rene Higuita, footballers Paulo Dybala, Paul Pogba and Patrick Kluivert + former NFLer Chad Johnson. Semi-Final - USA (1) v (0) Brazil - At the LA Coliseum, USA stunned the World Champions with a 2nd half goal and booked their place in the Final. The win was the USA's first ever against Brazil and the 1st time they had scored against Brazil in 68 years. The goal came in the 65th minute from substitute Preki Radosavljevic and, with USA goalkeeper Kasey Keller in inspired form (10 saves), the USA held on for the win. The USA also featured Alexi Lalas, John Harkes, Eric Wynalda and Brian McBride. Final - USA (2) v (4) Mexico - In a shootout at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Mexico claimed their 6th Gold Cup with a dramatic comeback victory. USA took a 2-0 lead in the 1st half with goals from Michael Bradley and Landon Donovan before Mexico levelled the scores before half-time with goals from Pablo Barrera and Andres Guardado. A free-flowing 2nd half ended with further Mexico goals from Barrera and a brilliant goal from Giovani Dos Santos that gave Mexico the win (10, 2 Discs, Eurosport - Boyce/Duncan, PAL)

Quarter Final - Haiti (3) v (2) Canada - At NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, underdog Haiti came back from a 2 goal halftime deficit to upset Canada and book their place in their 1st ever Gold Cup Semi-Final. Canada seemed in control at the break nursing a 2-0 lead, but Haiti capitalised on 2 defensive mistakes to level the scores, setting up a sensational finish. Confederations Cup Group A - Italy (4) v (3) Japan - Italy booked their place in the Semi-Finals with a dramatic comeback win in Recife, Brazil. But Italy stormed back to take a 3-2 lead after 7 minutes of the 2nd half only for Japan to draw level again. With the game heading for a draw, Sebastian Giovinco tapped in a dramatic winner 4 minutes from the end to give Italy the win. Atletico dominated the 1st half and led 5-0 at the half, and then scored 1 more goal before Real Madrid finally got on the scoresheet. 6 minutes after the Real Madrid goal, a bad tackle from Dani Carvajal saw Atletico's Diego Costa see red and they were both sent off for fighting. City dominated the 2nd half but had to wait until injury-time for the game-clinching goal, which set off riotous celebrations in the crowd.
