European Cup Winners Cup Final - Tottenham Hotspur (5) v (1) Atletico Madrid - Spurs became the 1st English team to win a European trophy with a resounding win over Atletico Madrid. The Spurs heroes were Dyson and Greaves who each scored 2 goals (8, B+W, 20 minute hi-lites, 1 Disc, BBC - Wolstenholme, PAL)


1964/65
European Cup Winners Cup Final - West Ham United (2) v (0) TSV 1860 Munich - West Ham coach Ron Greenwood had put together a dazzling team led by Bobby Moore at the back, Martin Peters in the middle and Geoff Hurst up-front but it was Alan Sealy who won the cup with 2 goals 2 minutes apart (9, B+W, Official DVD, 1 Disc, BBC - Wolstenholme/Barnes, PAL)

1965/66
European Cup Winners Cup Semi Final, 1st leg - Borussia Dortmund (2) @ (1) West Ham United - West Ham suffered a set-back in their quest to retain the Cup Winners Cup, losing the 1st leg to 2 late goals. Led by Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, the Hammers attacked the Germans but found the Dortmund goalkeeper Hans Tilkowski in fine form. The opening goal came in the 52nd minute from Martin Peters and a 1st leg lead seemed on the cards. But the Germans kept going and were rewarded with 2 goals in the final 5 minutes to snatch the win. 1969/70

Inter-Cities Fairs Cup - Final, 2nd Leg -
Anderlecht (0) @ (3) Arsenal - Arsenal overturned a 3-1 deficit from the 1st leg to win their first trophy in 17 years. A 1st half goal from Eddie Kelly gave the team hope and when John Radford and John Sammels scored within a minute of each other in the 2nd half, Arsenal claimed the trophy. Arsenal also featured Bob Wilson, Frank McLintock, Charlie George and George Graham. Anderlecht were led by Paul van Himst (9, Black and White, Arsenal TV re-broadcast, 40 minutes hi-lites, ITV - Moore, PAL)

1975/76
European Cup Winners Cup Semi-Final, 2nd Leg -
Eintracht Frankfurt (1) @ (3) West Ham United - In the rain at Upton Park, West Ham put on a display for the ages as they overturned a 1st leg 2-1 deficit to reach the Final. 2nd half goals from Trevor Brooking (2) and Stewart Robson did the damage but great defending from Billy Bonds and Frank Lampard also helped (9, Timer at the bottom of the screen, 49 minutes hi-lites, 1 Disc, ITV - Moore, PAL)

1980/81
European Cup Winners Cup 1st Round, 2nd leg - Castilla (1) @ (5) West Ham United - In bizarre circumstances, West Ham over-turned a 3-1 deficit from the 1st leg to book a place in the 2nd Round. Due to crowd trouble in the 1st leg, West Ham had to play the 2nd leg at Upton Park behind closed doors with only 262 people in attendance. West Ham quickly wiped out Castilla's 1st leg advantage with 3 goals in the 1st half. Castilla tied the game up on aggregate with a goal early in the 2nd half and the match went to extra-time. West Ham ended the game stronger and finished off the Spaniards with 2 more goals. The West Ham goals came from David Cross (3), Geoff Pike and Paul Goddard. The Castilla goal came from their Captain Bernal, a 35 yard screamer (9, 1 Disc, ITV - Tyler, PAL)

1982/83
European Cup Winners Cup Final - Aberdeen (2) v (1) Real Madrid - Alex Ferguson had put together a strong Aberdeen side to take on Real Madrid in the Final, and in a torrential downpour, Aberdeen took the game into extra-time with Aberdeen finally breaking the dead-lock 8 minutes from the end when substitute John Hewitt slid in to send the Cup to Scotland (8, 2 Discs, ITV - Moore/St.John, PAL)

1986/87
European Cup Winners Cup Quarter Final, 2nd Leg - Malmo (1) @ (3) Ajax - In a packed De Meer Stadium, Ajax progressed to the Semi-Finals with a 3-2 aggregate win over Malmo. Goals from Marco Van Basten (2) and Aaron Winter sealed the win but the night belonged to 17 year old Dennis Bergkamp, who had a great game. Van Basten also missed a penalty. Malmo were coached by Roy Hodgson. Ajax also featured Frank Rijkaard, Danny Blind and Arnold Muhren and were coached by Johan Cruyff (8, Dutch Commentary, 1 Disc, NOS - Unknown, PAL)

1990/91

European Cup Winners Cup Final -
Manchester United (2) v (1) Barcelona - On a rainy night in Rotterdam, United celebrated their return to European competition with a big win over a talented Barcelona team. With English teams playing in European competition for the first time in 5 years since Heysel, United were fired up to win their 1st European trophy in 23 years and 2 goals in the 2nd half from Mark Hughes did the trick. Barcelona fought back with a goal from Ronald Koeman but couldn't find the late breakthrough to tie the game. United also featured Goalkeeper Les Sealey, Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, Bryan Robson, Paul Ince and Brian McClair. Barcelona were coached by Johann Cruijff and featured Albert Ferrer,  Ion Andoni Goikoetxea, Julio Salinas, Michael Laudrup and Txiki Beguiristáin but were missing key players Andoni Zubizarreta and Guillermo Amor through suspension and star striker Hristo Stoitchkov through injury (10, Official DVD, 1 Disc, ITV - Moore/Greaves, PAL)

1994/95
European Cup Winners Cup Final - Arsenal (1) v (2) Real Zaragoza - Both teams battled to Extra-Time and the game seemed destined for penalties when, with the last kick of the game, Zaragoza midfielder Nayim scored with a shot from the half-way line that dipped under the bar for the winner (8, 1 Disc, ITV - Moore/Keegan, PAL)

1998/99
Intertoto Cup Final - West Ham United (3) @ (1) FC Metz - West Ham travelled to Metz knowing a win will see them entered into the UEFA cup. Goals from Frank Lamapard, Trevor Sinclair and Paulo Wanchope were enough to secure the win (9, 1 Disc, SKY - Crocker/Allen, PAL)
