Final - Roma (1) v (0) Feyenoord - In the inaugural Europa Conference League final, Roma won their first ever major European trophy by beating Feyenoord in Tirana, Albania. With the win, Roma coach Jose Mourinho extended his extraordinary win streak in European finals to 5. A youthful Feyenoord controlled possession but lacked the cutting edge, while Roma defended very well and took their chance when it game, scoring the game-winner in the 32nd minute which they defended to the end. The Roma goal came from Nicola Zaniolo. Roma also featured Tammy Abraham and man-of-the-match Chris Smalling. Playoff 1st Leg - Viborg (1) @ (3) West Ham United - West Ham put one foot in the Europa Conference group stage with a strong showing in the Playoff 1st Leg at the London Stadium. West Ham were missing captain Declan Rice, vice-captain Aaron Cresswell and manager David Moyes as a result of suspensions but handed first starts to Maxwell Cornet and Gianluca Scamacca and a debut to defender Thilo Kehrer. Scamacca rewarded the team with a first goal for the club, with the other goals coming from Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio. Group B - FCSB (1) @ (3) West Ham United - In their opening game of the group, West Ham fought back from 1-0 down to win at the London Stadium. The Romanians FCSB took a 1-0 lead in at the break but West Ham dominated the 2nd half and 3 unanswered goals secured the win. The West Ham goals came from Jarrod Bowen, Emerson and Michail Antonio. Group B - West Ham United (3) @ (2) Silkeborg - West Ham maintained their winning start to the campaign with a tight win in Denmark. Silkeborg rode the emotion of the crowd to take a 5th minute lead but West Ham responded with 3 unanswered goals to take a comfortable lead into the final 15 minutes. A Silkeborg goal made for a nervy finish, only for West Ham to steady the ship and see out the game for the win. The West Ham goals came from Manuel Lanzini, Gianluca Scamacca and Craig Dawson. Group B - West Ham United (1) @ (0) Anderlecht - West Ham won their 3rd straight game in the group with a tight win at Lotto Park in Brussels. The Hammers dominated large parts of the game but had to wait until the 2nd half for the breakthrough. West Ham made 3 substitutions, bringing on captain Declan Rice, midfielder Lucas Paqueta and striker Gianluca Scamacca, and the move paid off as all three were involved in the goal, with Gianluca Scamacca scoring the winner in the 79th minute (9, 2 Discs, BT Sport - Drury/Allen, PAL)
Group B - Anderlecht (1) @ (2) West Ham United - West Ham guaranteed qualification for the knockout stage of the Europa Conference League with two games to spare, with a tight win at the London Stadium. 1st half goals from Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen did the damage but an 89th minute penalty from Sebastiano Esposito made for a nervy finish. Group B - Silkeborg (0) @ (1) West Ham United - West Ham maintained their winning record in the group with a strong win at the London Stadium. The win ensured that they finished top of the group. The Hammers were the better team but couldn't convert chances into goals and had to rely on a 1st half penalty from Manuel Lanzini to secure the points. With a place in the last 16 already assured, manager David Moyes gave some of West Ham's youngsters a game and they didn't disappoint. Moyes gave debuts to Divin Mubama and 16 year old Oliver Scarles and also played 22 year old Conor Coventry and 23 year old Flynn Downes. Quarter Final, 1st Leg - West Ham United (1) @ (1) Gent - West Ham survived a tough test in Belgium, staying in the tie with a hard-fought draw. West Ham scored first with a goal from Danny Ings but Gent fought back to equalise in the 2nd half with a goal from Hugo Cuypers. Gent piled on pressure trying to find a winner, but West Ham defended well to take a draw back to the London Stadium. Gent took a shock lead in the 1st half, but West Ham recovered to score 4 unanswered goals and celebrated the win with their fans. The West Ham goals came from Michail Antonio (2), Lucas Paqueta and Declan Rice. Rice's goal came from a surging solo run from his own half before finishing past the 'keeper. Semi-Final 1st Leg - AZ Alkmaar (1) @ (2) West Ham United - West Ham took a decisive lead in the tie with a hard-fought win at the London Stadium. Dutch side Alkmaar took a 1st half lead through a Tijjani Reijnders goal, but West Ham regrouped at the break and turned the game around with 2nd half goals from Said Benrahma and Michail Antonio to send the crowd crazy. Semi-Final 1st Leg - West Ham United (1) @ (0) AZ Alkmaar - On a sensational night in Alkmaar, West Ham booked a place in their first European competition Final since 1976 with a hard-fought win at the AFAS Stadium. Alkmaar dominated possession but West Ham defended resolutely to deny the home side the goal they needed. And the tie was settled in the 4th minute of injury time at the end of the game when Pablo Fornals scored the game-sealing goal, setting off crazy scenes in the stadium. Final - West Ham United (2) v (1) Fiorentina - West Ham ended their 43-year wait for a major trophy, beating Fiorentina in dramatic fashion in the Fortuna Arena in Prague. After a tight and scoreless 1st half, West Ham opened the scoring in the 62nd minute with a penalty from Said Benrahma. But the Italians equalised 7 minutes later with a goal from Giacomo Bonaventura. The game seemed to be heading to extra-time when, in the 90th minute, Jarrod Bowen beat the off-side trap to race through on goal and calmly beat the 'keeper for the game-winning goal. After a nervy 6 minutes of injury time, the referee finally blew the whistle to send the West Ham fans in the crowd crazy with delight.
