1980/81 
FA Cup Round 4 - Liverpool (1) @ (2) Everton - In a very physical game at Goodison Park, Everton secured a much-needed win against their big rivals to move into the 5th round of the cup. Everton took the game to Liverpool and deservedly went in at the break with a 1-0 lead after a goal from Peter Eastoe. Everton extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal from Imre Varadi, who had a great game, and were playing the better football. Liverpool pulled a goal back from Jimmy Case on 76 minutes, making for a nervy finish, but the Blues held on for a famous win. There were 46 fouls committed in the game, leading to 6 yellow cards and a 2nd half skirmish involving Graeme Souness, Jimmy Case, Mick Lyons and Billy Wright. Everton also featured Kevin Ratcliffe, Steve McMahon, Asa Hartford and Eamonn O'Keefe. Liverpool also featured Phil Neal, Sammy Lee, Terry McDermott and Kenny Dalglish but were missing Alan Hansen and Alan Kennedy to injury. FA Cup Final - Tottenham (3) v (2) Manchester City - The 100th FA Cup Final was finally won by Tottenham in a replay, with Spurs coming back from a 2-1 deficit to take the cup. The hero for Spurs was Argentinian Ricky Villa, who scored 2 goals including the winner on a breathtaking run in the Penalty area that beat 3 players and the Goalkeeper. Spurs also featured Graham Roberts, Steve Perryman, Glenn Hoddle, Osvaldo Ardiles, Garth Crooks and Steve Archibald. FA Cup Round 3 - Arsenal (0) @ (1) Tottenham Hotspur - For the 1st time at the Lane, the old rivals met in the FA Cup and it was the current Champions Spurs who emerged victorious. Tottenham were the more incisive with Glenn Hoddle pulling the strings, but Spurs needed a bit of luck to score when a Garth Crooks shot was mis-handled by keeper Pat Jennings and squirted into the net. Spurs kept Arsenal at arms length the rest of the way and booked their place in the 4th round. Spurs also featured Ricky Villa, Mark Falco and Osvaldo Ardiles. FA Cup Final Replay - Tottenham Hotspur (1) v (0) Queens Park Rangers - Tottenham Hotspur retained the FA Cup against 2nd Division QPR but needed a Replay at Wembley to do so. After a 1-1 draw, the teams returned to Wembley 5 days later, and this time favoured Spurs won out. They took a 6th minute lead with a penalty and despite a strong 2nd half from QPR, held on to the end to take the cup. The Spurs goal came from Glenn Hoddle. Spurs also featured goalkeeper Ray Clemence, Chris Hughton, Graham Roberts, Steve Perryman, Garth Crooks and Steve Archibald. 1982/83
FA Cup Round 3 - Ipswich Town (3) @ (2) Charlton Athletic - Ipswich recovered from a bad start to win a shootout over Charlton at The Valley. Charlton started fast and were up 2-0 early in the 1st half with goals from Derek Hales and an own-goal. But Ipswich re-grouped and scored 2 goals late in the half from John Wark (a penalty) and an own-goal, to go in at the break level at 2-2. The 2nd half saw a more Defensive game and Ipswich only settled the match in their favour with a last minute goal from John Wark. Ipswich also featured Frans Thijssen, Terry Butcher, Paul Mariner and Alan Brazil. Charlton featured Paul Elliott and former European Footballer of the Year Allan Simonsen. FA Cup Quarter Final - Norwich City (0) @ (1) Brighton and Hove Albion - In a stop-start game at the Goldstone Ground, Brighton finally managed to dispatch Norwich to book a place in the Semi-Final for the 1st time in the teams history. The winner came in the 2nd half from Jimmy Case, although the goal initially seemed to be disallowed by the linesman for a foul in the build up, but the referee played advantage and Case claimed the goal. Brighton held on for the rest of the half and then celebrated the win. Brighton also featured Gary Stevens, Steve Foster, Steve Gatting and Gerry Ryan. FA Cup Semi-Final - Sheffield Wednesday (1) v (2) Brighton and Hove Albion - Brighton booked their place in their 1st ever FA Cup Final with a big win at Highbury. A 1st half 35 yard thunderbolt from Jimmy Case gave the Seagulls the lead at the half but Ante Mirocevic equalised for the Owls just after the half to tie the game up. Brighton clinched the win with a goal from Michael Robinson late in the game and held off the Owls to book a place at Wembley. FA Cup Final - Manchester United (2) v (2) Brighton and Hove Albion - The underdog Seagulls scored in the last minute of the game to force extra-time and the replay. League Cup 2nd Round, 2nd Leg - Bury (0) @ (10) West Ham United - In the highest scoring League Cup ever, West Ham put Bury to the sword with 5 goals in each half. FA Cup Round 4 - Liverpool (0) @ (2) Brighton and Hove Albion - Brighton repeated their upset win of 1982/83 over Liverpool with a shock victory at the Goldstone Ground. Liverpool paid for uncharacteristic poor finishing in front of goal when Brighton scored 2 goals in 2 minutes in the 2nd half to take the lead, then the Seagulls defended well to see out the rest of the game and take the win. The Brighton goals came from Gerry Ryan and Terry Connor. Brighton also featured Goalkeeper Joe Corrigan, who had a good game, Steve Foster and Tony Grealish. Liverpool featured Goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar, Mark Lawrenson, Alan Hansen, Ian Rush, Craig Johnston and Graeme Souness. FA Cup 4th Round - Arsenal (0) @ (1) York City - On a snowy pitch in York, the home team from Division 3 upset the Division 1 Gunners. After a scrappy 1st half that ended 0-0, Arsenal took the initiative in the 2nd half but failed to capitalise on their chances. In the final minute of the game, York won a penalty and Keith Houchen scored to put York through. Arsenal featured Kenny Sansom, Paul Mariner, Tony Woodcock and Charlie Nicholas. FA Cup 6th Round - Ipswich Town (2) @ (2) Everton - Ipswich stunned the league leaders by earning a replay with a draw at Goodison Park. Everton were on fire in the opening 15 minutes but poor defending left them 2-1 down at the half. Everton fought back in the 2nd half and earned a replay with a goal in the 81st minute. The Everton goals came from Kevin Sheedy and Derek Mountfield. The Ipswich goals came from Kevin Wilson and Romeo Zondervan. Full Members Cup Final - Manchester City (5) v (4) Chelsea - Chelsea won the inaugural Full Members Cup with a big win over City. A hat-trick from David Speedie and 2 goals from Colin Lee gave Chelsea a 5-1 lead but late goals from City made the result closer than expected (6, 45 minutes, Missing first 9 minutes - Tracking issues + jumpy picture + dropped frames, 1 Disc, Official VHS transfer, PAL)

FA Cup Round 3 - Arsenal (4) @ (3) Grimsby - In a shootout on an icy pitch at Blundell Park, Arsenal survived a dogged upset bid from Grimsby to advance to the 4th round. After conceding a shock early goal to Grimsby, Arsenal scored 3 unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead. But Grimsby sensationally fought back to close the gap to 3-2 then 4-3 before running out of time to complete the comeback. The Arsenal goal-scorers were Charlie Nicholas (3) and Graham Rix. 2 of Nicholas's goals came from great free-kicks. The Grimsby goals came from Gary Lund, Player/Manager Mick Lyons and Andy Peake. Arsenal also featured Niall Quinn, Martin Keown, Paul Rocastle, Viv Anderson and Kenny Sanson. Grimsby also featured Tony Ford who had a great game. FA Cup Final - Everton (1) v (3) Liverpool - The 1st ever Merseyside final provided Liverpool with an opportunity to complete the League and Cup double. Liverpool fought back from an early goal from Gary Lineker (in his last game before a move to Barcelona) with 3 2nd half goals ; 2 from Ian Rush and 1 from Craig Johnston. Everton featured Peter Reid, Trevor Steven, Kevin Sheedy and Graeme Sharp. FA Cup Round 5 - Everton (1) @ (3) Wimbledon - Wimbledon won through to the 6th round of the Cup for the 1st time in their history with a big home win. Everton dominated possession and opened the scoring with a goal from Paul Wilkinson but couldn't convert any more of their chances, with 'Dons goalkeeper Dave Beasant on top form. Wimbledon had few chances but when they came they took them, scoring 3 unanswered goals from Glyn Hodges, John Fashanu and Andy Sayer to take the win. FA Cup 6th Round - Watford (1) @ (3) Arsenal - Watford used great attacking football to upset Arsenal at Highbury and move on to the Semi-Final. John Barnes and David Bardsley were unstoppable on the wings and helped Watford overturn a 1-0 deficit. The Watford goals came from Luther Blissett (2) and John Barnes. The Arsenal goal came from Ian Allinson after a defensive mistake. FA Cup Final - Tottenham Hotspur (2) v (3) Coventry City - In a big upset, Coventry won their 1st ever domestic cup with an Extra-Time win over a favoured Spurs team. Tottenham started the better and led 2-1 at the half. Coventry forced Extra-Time with a 2nd half goal before an own-goal from Spurs defender Gary Mabbutt sealed the historic win for the Sky Blues. The Coventry goals came from Keith Houchen and Dave Bennett. League Cup Semi-Final Replay - Arsenal (2) @ (1) Tottenham Hotspur - Arsenal finally dispatched Spurs to book their place in the Wembley Final. After a scoreless 1st half, Spurs scored 1st with a Clive Allen goal and with 8 minutes to go still held a slim lead. But Arsenal stunned their rivals with 2 goals in the final 8 minutes from substitute Ian Allinson and David Rocastle, with Rocastle's goal coming in the 90th minute. FA Cup 4th Round - Tottenham Hotspur (1) @ (2) Port Vale - On a blustery day in Port Vale, the Division 3 hosts upset Division 1 Spurs. Port Vale were the better team in the 1st half and led 2-0 at the break with goals from Ray Walker and Phil Sproson. But Spurs were better in the 2nd half and created more chances, finally converting 1 when Neil Ruddock headed home. But Port Vale hung on for the win. Port Vale also featured Robbie Earle. Spurs also featured Chris Waddle, Gary Mabbutt and Clive Allen. FA Cup Final - Liverpool (0) v (1) Wimbledon - League champions Liverpool were odds-on favourites for the double but underdog Wimbledon upset the odds with a stunning win. A 1st half goal from a corner by Lawrie Sanchez was enough and, with a dogged 2nd half effort, the 'Dons held on for the win. Wimbledon also featured Dennis Wise and Vinnie Jones. FA Cup 3rd Round - Coventry City (1) @ (2) Sutton United - In a big upset at Gander Green lane, Non-League Sutton shocked 1st Division Coventry. Sutton were in control for large parts of the game and took a 1-0 lead in at the half. Coventry levelled at the start of the 2nd half but Sutton went ahead again in the 59th minute. Sutton then manfully defended the lead to the end to take the win. The Sutton goals came from Tony Rains and Matthen Hanlan. The Coventry goal came from David Phillips. FA Cup 4th Round - Chelsea (1) @ (3) Bristol City - Division 3 Bristol City upset Division 1 Chelsea at Ashton Gate to progress to the next round. City were the better team throughout and took a 2-0 lead in the 56th minute. Chelsea did get a goal back from Kevin Wilson with 7 minutes to go but as they pushed forward for an equaliser, City scored in injury time to clinch the win. The City goals came from Robbie Turner (2) and Mark Gavin. Chelsea also featured Graham Roberts, Graeme Le Saux and Kerry Dixon. FA Cup Semi-Final - Manchester United (2) v (2) Oldham Athletic - 2nd Division Oldham took 1st Division Manchester United all the way at Maine Road, taking them to extra-time and then a replay. The game was tied at 1-1 at the half and 2-2 after full-time and when Oldham scored with 7 minutes left the game went to a replay. The United goal-scorers were Bryan Robson, Neil Webb and Danny Wallace. The Oldham goal-scorers were Earl Barrett, Ian Marshall and Roger Palmer. FA Cup Semi-Final - Crystal Palace (4) v (3) Liverpool - Crystal Palace stunned league-leaders Liverpool with an upset win in Extra-Time at Villa Park. Both teams went at it with Palace and Liverpool both taking leads in the game with Palace forcing extra-time with a goal 2 minutes from time. Once in extra-time, Palace took control and scored the decisive goal with 11 minutes left that they defended to the end to reach their 1st ever FA Cup Final.
