Ajax held a 1-0 lead in the tie after the 1st leg and played sensational football in the 1st half to go in at the break with a 2-0 lead on the night and a 3-0 lead overall. But Spurs came out fired up in the 2nd half and scored 2 goals in 4 minutes to level the scores and leave them with 1 more goal needed to win the tie on away goals. But Ajax goalkeeper André Onana was in inspired form and kept them out and with the game entering the 5th minute of injury time, Ajax looked assured of the win. Liverpool were missing their top 2 strikers, Mo Salah and Robert Firmino, but it didn't matter as they took a 1-0 lead in at the half then scored 2 goals in 2 minutes at the start of the 2nd half to set up a rousing finish. The game and the tie was won in the 79th minute when quick thinking at a corner gave Liverpool the goal they needed to sensationally win.
