Leicester held a 20-14 lead at the half but Saracens pegged them back and took a 1 point lead with 5 minutes remaining. Leicester weren't finished and responded with a last minute try by Dan Hipkiss to claim the trophy. The other Leicester tries came from Matt Smith and Ben Youngs, with Toby Flood kicking 4 penalties. Premiership Semi-Final - Saracens (12) v (10) Gloucester - Saracens advanced to their 2nd straight final with a hard-fought win against Gloucester. Sarries led 6-3 at the half but trailed with 3 minutes to go when Owen Farrell stepped up to kick his 4th penalty of the game to win the match. Gloucester scored the only try of the game through Nick Robinson but he also missed 2 penalties. Saracens fared no better, missing 6 penalties of their own in the blustery conditions at Vicarage Road. Premiership Final - Leicester Tigers (18) v (22) Saracens - Saracens avenged their loss in the 2010 final with a big win at Twickenham to take their 1st ever Premiership title. The Saracens dominated the 1st half, leading 16-9 at the break, but had to hold off a strong Tigers fightback in the 2nd half that included a final 32 phase of play in the dying minutes to take the win. Premiership Regular Season - London Irish (24) v (29) Harlequins - In the season opener at Twickenham, Harlequins used the boot of Nick Evans to overcome a big game from the Exiles. Quins had the better of the 1st half and led 13-6 at the break, but the Irish fought back to level the scores at the start of the 2nd half. Both teams traded scores but ill-discipline from the Irish allowed Quins to get their noses in front and they held off a late charge from the Irish to take the win. But Harlequins suddenly found their attacking rhythm and scored 4 unanswered tries to pull within 2 points, and then Nick Evans completed the comeback with a penalty 2 minutes from time. Premiership Regular Season - Bath (12) @ (17) Leicester - In a tempestuous game at Welford Road, Leicester continued their mastery over Bath and moved into 3rd in the table with the win. Bath held a 12-6 lead after 57 minutes before South African Francois Louw and Matt Banahan were sent off, and Leicester capitalised by scoring a try and 2 penalties to take the win. The moment of the match belonged to Sale wing Mark Cueto whose 2nd half try broke the all-time Premiership try scoring record held by Steve Hanley since 2006. Premiership Regular Season - Worcester (23) @ (29) Gloucester - In a controversial game at Kingsholm, Gloucester kept pace with the league leaders with a tight win. A tight, back-and-forth game seemed to be heading towards a Worcester win as they led 23-22 entering the final minute of the game. But with the last play of the game, Gloucester broke from their own 22 and seemed about to run in the game-winning try when Worcester's Errie Claasens tripped Gloucester's Jonny May. The referee consulted the TMO and he awarded a penalty try, despite Worcester seemingly in place to make a cover tackle. The other Gloucester try came from Henry Trinder. Premiership Regular Season - Saracens (32) @ (27) Leicester Tigers - In a record-setting performance at Welford Road, Saracens stunned the Tigers to consolidate their 2nd place spot in the league. Leicester started strong, dominating territory and possession to take a 17-6 lead in at the half. Saracens came out a different team after the break and out-scored the Tigers 26-3 before a last play penalty try to the Tigers made the score more respectable. In a back-and-forth game, Gloucester found themselves ahead 39-37 entering the last minute when Exeter won a penalty. Gareth Steenson stepped up and converted his 7th penalty of the game to take the narrow win. Both teams combined for 8 tries. The Exeter tries came from Dean Mumm, Damian Welch and a penalty try. Premiership Semi-Final - Northampton Saints (27) @ (13) Saracens - In a big upset, #4 seed Northampton upset #1 seed Saracens at Allianz Park to reach their 1st Premiership Final. The Saints started fast and held a 17-0 lead at the half but Saracens re-grouped after the break to pull within 17-13 before Northampton regained their composure and closed out the game with the final 10 points. Premiership Final - Leicester Tigers (37) v (17) Northampton Saints - Leicester won their 10th Premiership title with a feisty win over local rivals Northampton at Twickenham. The game was decided in the closing seconds of the 1st half when the Saints conceded a penalty which infuriated Saints captain Dylan Hartley so much he seemed to call the referee a "cheat". The outburst forced referee Wayne Barnes to send him off. Premiership Semi-Final - Saracens (29) @ (24) Northampton Saints - #4 Saracens upset #1 Northampton at Franklin Gardens in a closely fought win. Both teams were evenly matched and went in at the break tied at 13-13. The lead changed hands twice in the 2nd half before Saracens pulled away late with a 2 penalties from Owen Farrell to seal the win and book their place in the Final. Premiership Semi-Final - Leicester Tigers (10) @ (47) Bath - For the 1st time in the Premiership era, Bath had a home tie in the Semi-Finals and they used it to their advantage with a big win over the Tigers. Leicester controlled time of possession and field position but could only score 1 try and 1 penalty. In contrast, Bath had only 8 entries inside the Tigers 20 yard line and scored tries on 7 of them, posting a 21-10 lead at the half then pulling away in the 2nd half to book a place in the Final. Premiership Final - Bath (16) v (28) Saracens - Saracens claimed their 2nd Premiership title with a physical win at Twickenham. They also became the first 4th place team in the Playoffs to win the title. LV Cup Final - Saracens (23) v (20) Exeter Chiefs - Saracens won their 1st LV Cup with a last-play penalty to beat the defending champions at Franklin Gardens. A tight 1st half ended 6-3 to Exeter but Saracens turned the game around with 3 tries to take a 20-6 lead. Exeter responded and scored 2 tries of their own to level the scores but, with extra-time looming, the Chiefs conceded a penalty and Ben Spencer stepped up to kick the game-winner on the last play of the game.
