Western Province (24) v (7) Northern Transvaal - Western Province dominated with the kicking game to deny Naas Botha and Northern Transvaal the title. WP featured Nick Mallett, future Sprongbok manager (8, missing opening kick-off, 1 Disc, Sportscenter - Anderson/Bladen/Hoeness, PAL)

1996
Tri-Nations - Australia (6) v (43) New Zealand - In the 1st ever Tri-Nations game, New Zealand put the inexperienced Aussies to the sword, running in 6 tries. Despite the wind and the rain, the All Blacks stunned Australia with 4 tries to lead 25-6 at the half and then played great defense in the 2nd half as the weather worsened. The 6 tries were scored by 6 different players ; Michael Jones, Christian Cullen, Justin Marshall, Zinzan Brooke, Jeff Wilson and Jonah Lomu (8, Sparkles in the picture, 1 Disc, SKY NZ- Quinn/Fox/McBeth, PAL)

Tri-Nations - New Zealand (29) @ (18) South Africa - South Africa were en-route to a big win over the All Blacks when Springbok captain Francois Pienaar left the field with concussion. This proved to be the turning point as the All Blacks stormed back into the game with 5 penalties from Andrew Mehrtens to claim the win. This game marked Pienaar's last game for the Boks (8, 1 Disc, SKY - Harrison/Salmon, PAL)

1997

Tri-Nations -
South Africa (35) @ (55) New Zealand - In a shootout in Eden Park, both teams went toe-to-toe until South African Andre Venter was sent off, then the All Blacks took control and ran out easy winners. The score was 29-21 to New Zealand when Venter was dismissed for stamping and within 30 minutes the score was 50-21. Both teams combined for 12 tries; 7 for New Zealand and 5 the Boks. The All Blacks featured Christian Cullen (2 tries), Carlos Spencer, Justin Marshall and Frank Bunce (winning his 50th cap). The Boks featured Gary Teichmann, Percy Montgomery, Joost Van der Westhuizen and Mark Andrews (8, 1 Disc, SKY NZ - Nisbett/Mexted/McCahill, PAL)

Tri-Nations -
Australia (24) @ (36) New Zealand - In a very strange game, all the points were scored at one end of the field due to the very strong wind blowing across the field. New Zealand won the 1st half 36-0 and Australia won the 2nd half 24-0. The Aussies actually ran in 4 tries to 3 for the All Blacks but Carlos Spencer had a great game with the boot, kicking 5 penalties. The game was also the last game together for Sean Fitzpatrick, Zinzan Brooke and Frank Bunce. Fitzpatrick lifted the Bledisloe and Tri-Nations trophies at the end of the game. Australia featured Stephen Larkham, Joe Roff and George Gregan. New Zealand also featured Christian Cullen (Amazing 70 metre try), Ian Jones and Justin Marshall (8, 1 Disc, SKY NZ - Nisbett/Mexted/McCahill, PAL)


1998
Tri-Nations - New Zealand (23) @ (24) South Africa - The Boks completed their best ever comeback against the All Blacks, fighting back from a 23-5 deficit with 3 tries in final 12 minutes. James Dalton was the hero with a controversial try in the final seconds (7, 1 Disc, Supersport - Bladen/Stransky, PAL)

2000
Tri-Nations - New Zealand (40) @ (46) South Africa - Both teams produced breath-taking attacking rugby in the 1st half and then produced great defensive rugby in he 2nd half. 10 tries were scored in the game (8, 1 Disc, SKY NZ - Nisbett/Mexted, PAL)

Tri-Nations -
New Zealand (39) @ (35) Australia - In what has been called the "Greatest Game Ever", New Zealand exploded with 24 points in the 1st 5 minutes. Australia fought their way back into the game with Stirling Mortlock scoring 2 tries. Australia completed the comeback with the go-ahead score from Jeremy Paul in the final minute. But their was time for 1 more attack after the horn had sounded and, inevitably, Jonah Lomu finished the move and the game with a brilliant try (9, 1 Disc, CH7 - Bray/Poidevin/Handy, PAL)


2002
Tri-Nations - New Zealand (30) @ (23) South Africa - A wild offensive game was tied at 17-17 early in the 2nd half when Bok fan Pieter Van Zyl ran on the pitch and assaulted referee David McHugh, dislocating the refs shoulder. After a lengthy break while the substitute ref was made ready, the game re-started and the All Blacks took control to see out the win. The Boks scored 2 tries and the All Blacks 3 tries and a penalty try (8, 1 Disc, Supersport - Cowley, PAL)

Tri-Nations - Australia (7) @ (16) New Zealand - In a torrential downpour, New Zealand used their pack to dominate field position and retain the Bledisloe cup (10, 1 Disc, SKY NZ - Nisbett/Johnson/Smith, PAL)

Tri-Nations - Australia (19) @ (22) South Africa - In a fast paced game dominated by the Boks, it was the Wallabies that took their chances and a 16-10 lead at the half. But the Boks kept going and won the game with 2 amazing drop goals from Francois Steyn in the last 6 minutes (9, 1 Disc, Supersport - Pearce/Stransky, PAL)

2009
Tri-Nations - New Zealand (19) @ (31) South Africa - On a record setting day in Durban, South Africa continued their unbeaten record with a come-from-behind win against the All Blacks. New Zealand took an early 10-3 lead on an Isaac Ross try but the Boks recovered and scored just before the half to take the lead for good. Man-of-the-match Morne Steyn set a competition record with all of the points for South Africa (1 try, 1 conversion, 8 penalties). Boks Captain John Smit set a world record for tests played as a captain, leading the team for the 60th time (10, 1 Disc, Supersports - Pearce/Stransky, PAL)

Tri-Nations - South Africa (32) @ (29) New Zealand - The Boks continued their win streak over the All Blacks and claimed their 2nd Tri-Nations title with a shootout win in Hamilton. The Boks led 22-12 at the half and increased their lead to 29-12 with a Jean de Villiers intercept try before the All Blacks clawed their way back into the game with tries from Sitiveni Sivivatu and Richie McCaw. On the final series of the game the All Blacks made it as far as the Boks 5 yard line before going out of bounds and South Africa finally claimed the win (10, 1 Disc, SKY NZ - Nisbett/Fox/Smith, PAL)

2011
Tri-Nations - New Zealand (20) @ (25) Australia - In a "winner takes all" final game, the Aussies upset the All Blacks and claimed their 1st Tri-Nations title since 2001. The Wallabies led 20-3 at the break thanks to tries from Will Genia and Radike Samo but the Kiwis re-grouped in the 2nd half to level the scores with tries from Conrad Smith and Ma'a Nonu. But Australia immediately re-took the lead through a Kurtley Beale try and held on for the final 20 minutes to take the win. Australia also featured Quade Cooper, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Digby Ioane and Rocky Elsom. New Zealand also featured Daniel Carter, Mils Muliaina and Richie McCaw (10, 1 Disc, FOX - Clark/Kearns/Martin/Rafer, PAL)


RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP

2013
Round 6 - New Zealand (38) @ (27) South Africa - New Zealand retained their title with a tight win in one of the greatest games of rugby ever. The All Blacks just needed to earn a try scoring bonus point to claim the title while the Springboks needed a bonus point win to claim the title. The All Blacks held a 21-15 lead at the half after a back-and-forth 1st half. South Africa re-took the lead at the start of the 2nd half then both teams opened up with great running rugby, as the Boks looked to win the game and the All Blacks sort out the bonus point 4th try. And with 20 minutes to go, the Kiwis scored their 4th try to take the title and sealed the win with another try. The New Zealand tries came from Ben Smith, Liam Messam (2), Beauden Barrett and Kieran Read. New Zealand also featured Aaron Cruden, Richie McCaw and Ma'a Nonu but were missing Dan Carter to injury. The South Africa tries came from Bryan Habana (2), Willie Le Roux and Jean De Villiers. Morne Steyn added 7 points with the boot.
