1st Test - British Lions (3) @ (20) New Zealand - New Zealand let the Lions know they were for real with a dominating win in Carisbrook. The All Blacks controlled the game and built on an 8-3 lead at the half by shutting out the Lions in the 2nd half. The All Blacks tries came from Bruce McLeod, Brian Lochore and Mick Williment. 2nd Test - British Lions (12) @ (16) New Zealand - In a close game at Athletic Park in Wellington, the All Blacks held off a resurgent Lions team to take a 2-0 lead in the series. The Lions actually led 9-8 at the half but the Kiwis fought back to take a 16-12 lead late in the game. The Lions had 1 last chance to take the win but a final attack fell short and the Kiwis held on for the win. The All Blacks tries came from Colin Meads, Kel Tremain and Tony Steel. The Lions points came from Stewart Wilson (3 pens) + a drop goal from captain Dai Watkins. 3rd Test - British Lions (6) @ (19) New Zealand - In Lancaster Park, Christchurch, the All Blacks clinched the series with a big 2nd half display against the Lions. the teams were tied at 6-6 at the half, but the All Blacks scored 3 tries in the 2nd half to pull away and take the win. The All Blacks tries came from Waka Nathan (2) and Spooky Smith. The Lions tries came from Ronnie Lamont and Dai Watkins. 4th Test - British Lions (11) @ (24) New Zealand - The All Blacks completed the series whitewash with a big win at Eden Park. The All Blacks ran in 4 tries to 2, building on a 10-8 lead at the half and coasting home . The Kiwis tries came from Malcolm Dick, Waka Nathan, Ian McRae and Tony Steel. The Lions tries came from Sandy Hinshelwood and Colin McFaydean (9, Black and White - Full game, 1 Disc, NZBC - Unknown, PAL)

1971
1st Test - British Lions (9) @ (3) New Zealand - The Lions survived early pressure from the All Blacks and used the kicking of Barry John and a try from Ian McLauchlan to secure the upset win and strart the series off with a win (10, B+W 35 minute hi-lites, 1 Disc, NZBC, PAL)

2nd Test - British Lions (12) @ (22) New Zealand - The All Blacks leveled the series with an awesome display of attacking rugby, scoring 5 tries. The Lions Gerald Davies scored an awesome try in the 1st half but it wasn't enough (9, Black and White, Full game, 1 Disc, NZBC - Finley/Young, PAL)

3rd Test - British Lions (13) @ (3) New Zealand - The Lions outscored the All Blacks with 2 tries and a drop goal as Gareth Edwards had an outstanding game. The result meant that the Lions only needed to avoide defeat in the 4th test to win the series (10, B+W 34 minute hi-lites, 1 Disc, NZBC - Williams/Herbertson, PAL)

4th Test - British Lions (14) @ (14) New Zealand - The Lions jumped out to an early lead and, despite a strong fightback from the All Blacks, they held on to draw the game and win the series. The game is famous for JPR Williams' drop goal in the 2nd half that turned out to be the tieing points. It was the only drop goal he ever kicked in international rugby (9, Black and White, Full game, 1 Disc, NZBC - Finley/Young, PAL)

1977
2nd Test - British Lions (13) @ (9) New Zealand - The Lions evened the series 1-1 with a big win in Christchurch. A very physical game with a few minor punch-ups was settled by an opportunistic try from JJ Williams and the boot of Phil Bennett, who kicked 3 goals. All the scoring took place in the 1st half and the game wasn't settled until the final seconds as the All Blacks fumbled 5 yards from the Lions line, going in for the tieing score. In the muddy conditions both teams missed kicks that would have made a difference but the defense of the Lions was enough to get the win. The Lions also featured Bill Beaumont (on his Lions debut), Fran Cotton, Ian McGeechan, Andy Irvine and Derek Quinnell. The All Blacks also featured Tane Norton, Sid Going (in his last All Black game), Andy Haden and Ian Kirkpatrick (9, Ocassional jitter during the middle portion of the game, 1 Disc, TVNZ - Quinn, PAL)

2nd Test -
British Lions (19) v (12) Australia - The Lions evened the series with an aggressive display of foward power in the "Battle of Ballymore". The game was marked by a series of skirmishes, started off by a large punch-up at the 1st scrum. Several Aussies needed treatment for cuts during the game which was won by tries from Gavin Hastings and Jeremy Guscott (9, 2 Discs, ABC - Bray/Handy/Pearse, PAL)

3rd Test -
British Lions (19) v (18) Australia
- The Lions won the series 2-1 with an aggressive display from the forwards, led by Finlay Calder and Mike Teague, which set up 5 penalties for Gavin Hastings. Australia fought back in the final 10 minutes but the Lions defense held firm for the win (9, 2 Discs, ABC - Bray/Handy/Pearse, PAL)

Game 12 - British Lions (19) v (15) ANZAC XV - The Lions ended their tour with a win, overcoming a strong ANZAC team to end the tour 11-1. A tight 1st half ended 6-6 with 2 penalties from Michael Lynagh off-set by a try from Irishman Brendan Mullin. The 2nd half was more open and the score ebbed and flowed but the Lions finally took the win with 2 late drop goals from Craig Chalmers and Gavin Hastings. The other ANZAC try came from Ian Williams while the other Lions try came from John Devereux. The ANZAC team was the 1st ever put together and featured 3 New Zealanders (Frano Botica, Kieran Crowley and Steve McDowell) as well as Aussies Nick Farr-Jones and David Campese. Game 1 - British Lions (30) v (17) North Auckland - In the opening game of the tour, the Lions survived a scrappy game to start with a win. Tries from Jeremy Guscott, Scott Hastings, Tony Clement and Rory Underwood did the damage. The Lions also featured Stuart Barnes, Brian Moore and Jason Leonard. North Auckland featured a young Ian Jones. Game 2 - British Lions (29) v (13) North Harbour - The Lions overwhelmed their hosts with great forward play and a big game from Tony Underwood. The tries came from Rob Andrew, Ieuan Evans and Underwood and he was also instrumental in most Lions attacks, keeping North Harbour on the back foot throughout. The Lions also featured Gavin Hastings, Will Carling, Scott Gibbs, Dewi Morris and Martin Bayfield. North Harbour featured Eric Rush, Frank Bunce, Walter Little and Apollo Perelini. Game 3 - British Lions (24) v (20) New Zealand Maori - The Lions fought back from a huge deficit at the half to stun a strong Maori team and stay unbeaten on tour. Led by their 3 All-Blacks, Zinzan Brooke + Norm Hewitt + Eric Rush, the Maori raced out to a 20-0 lead at the half with tries from Alan Prince and Steve Hirini. But the Lions re-grouped and rode the inspirational play of Welsh winger Ieuan Evans to score 24 unanswered points and take the win. The 2nd half points came from a Gavin Hastings penalty and try and great tries from Evans and Rory Underwood. The Lions also featured Stuart Barnes, Dewi Morris, Wade Dooley and Brian Moore. Game 4 - British Lions (28) v (10) Canterbury - In the rain in Canterbury, the Lions put together a strong all-around game to beat their hosts. The Lions played great Defense and used an opportunistic Offense to build on an 8-7 lead at the half with 3 more tries in the 2nd half to take the win. The tries came from Jeremy Guscott, Mick Galway, Tony Underwood and Rob Andrew. The Lions also featured Scott Gibbs, Dean Richards, Martin Bayfield and Jason Leonard. Canterbury featured Graeme Bachop and Todd Blackadder. On the same disc as the New Zealand Maori game (8, 42 minutes hi-lites, 1 Disc, CH1 - Nisbett/Graham, PAL)

Game 5 - British Lions (24) v (37) Otago - The Lions suffered their 1st tour loss as the Highlanders overturned a half-time deficit with a strong 2nd half to win the game. Led by tries from Dean Richards, Ieuan Evans and Gavin Hastings the Lions led 18-13 at the half. But Otago turned to an expansive game in the 2nd half and forced the Lions Backs into untimely errors which they capitalised on with tries from Tom Leslie, David Webber and John Timu. The Lions could only manage 2 penalties from Gavin Hastings in the 2nd half. The Lions also featured Jeremy Guscott, Robert Jones, Stuart Barnes, Dewi Morris and Martin Bayfield. Game 6 - British Lions (34) v (16) Southland - The Lions went back to basics to rebound from their 1st tour loss, as they used a strong forward-based game to beat their hosts. Led by Mike Teague, Brian Moore and Jason Leonard, the Lions raced out to a 24-0 lead at the half and survived a brief fightback by Southland to take the win. The Lions tries came from Andy Reed and Tony Clements. The Southland tries came from Jimmy Cormack and Bill Johnston. Game 8 - British Lions (49) v (25) Taranaki - In a high-scoring game, the Lions backs showed their worth, building on a 20-13 lead at the half to coast home to a big win. The 1st half belonged to Taranaki with Kieran Crowley pulling the strings. But the Lions scored a try just before the half from Mike Teague and rode the momentum to 5 tries in the 2nd half from Vince Cunningham (2), Robert Jones, Richard Wallace and Scott Gibbs. The Lions also featured Martin Johnson, in his 1st ever Lions game, and Stuart Barnes who had a great game. Game 9 - British Lions (18) v (23) Auckland - The unofficial "4th Test" lived up to the hype as Auckland overturned a half-time deficit to beat a strong Lions team. The Lions used a penalty try and a great Ieuan Evans try to lead 18-11 at the half with John Kirwan running in the lone Auckland try. But the Lions self-destructed in the 2nd half, giving away 4 penalties that Grant Fox converted to put Auckland ahead for good while the home teams' defense kept the Lions scoreless. The Lions also featured Scott Gibbs, Jeremy Guscott, Rory Underwood, Rob Andrew, Dewi Morris, Martin Bayfield, Martin Johnson, Brian Moore and Gavin Hastings. Game 10 - British Lions (17) v (29) Hawkes Bay - The Hawkeyes stunned the Lions with a big 2nd half to take their 1st ever win against the tourists. The Lions led 17-5 at the half with a try from Richard Webster + 2 penalties from Stuart Barnes. Hawkes Bay changed tactics in the 2nd half and rode an unstoppable wave of momentum to 24 unanswered points, with tries from Neil Weber and Simon Trumain and kicked points from Jared Cunningham and Simon Kerr. The Lions also featured Tony Underwood, Mike Teague and Jason Leonard. Hawkes Bay were led by Norm Hewitt and also featured British players Bill Davison and John Fowler. Game 12 - British Lions (10) v (38) Waikato - The Lions midweek team ended their tour with a big loss to a rampant Waikato team. The hosts came out firing and used a strong forward-based gameplan to set-up the backs and ran the Lions ragged. Tries from Doug Wilson and Dwayne Monkley (2) were complimented by 3 penalties from Matt Cooper as Waikato built a 26-3 lead at the half and coasted home. 2nd half tries from Aaron Collins and Warren Gatland finished the scoring for the hosts but the Lions Will Carling added some cheer with a late try. Game 4 -
British Lions (64) @ (14) Mpumulanga - The Lions survived a tough game in Witbank, running in 10 tries to easily beat Mpumulanga. Scotland captain Rob Wainwright had a big game, running in 3 tries in the opening 20 minutes of the match. 2 more tries before half-time effectively ended the match. The other Lions tries came from Matt Dawson, Tony Underwood (2), Neil Jenkins, Nick Beal and Ieuan Evans (2). The Mpumulanga tries game from Piet Joubert (2). The game is also remembered for an assault by Marius Bosman on Doddie Weir that shattered Weir's knee (8, 1 Disc, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 6 -
British Lions (20) @ (14) Gauteng
- Against a strong Gauteng team at Ellis Park, the Lions overcame their shock loss in Game 5 to get the tour back on track with a big win. The Lions were put under a lot of pressure by the Gauteng team featuring Hennie le Roux, Kobus Wiese, Andre Vos and James Dalton and needed tries from Austin Healey and a sensational 60 metre solo try from John Bentley to clinch the game. The Lions also featured Jeremy Guscott, Will Greenwood and Neil Back (7, jumpy picture, 1 Disc, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 7 -
British Lions (42) @ (12) Natal
- At King's Park, the Lions faced Natal in a game billed as the "4th Test" but the Lions made a statement, over-running the Currie Cup champions. The Lions scored 3 tries with Gregor Townsend, Mike Catt and Lawrence Dallaglio scoring, and Neil Jenkins added 24 points with the boot (3 conversions, 6 penalties). The result was soured by the loss of Robert Howley to a shoulder dislocation that ended his tour. The Lions also featured Keith Wood, Martin Johnson and Richard Hill. Natal featured John Smit, Gavin Lawless (4 penalties) and Robert du Preez (8, 1 Disc, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 9 - 1st Test  -
British Lions (25) v (16) South Africa - The Lions scored an amazing upset against the World Champions by surviving the powerful onslaught and converting their penalties to stay in the game. Neil Jenkins connected on 5 penalties and Matt Dawson scored the decisive try with a fantastic dummy. Game 11 - 2nd Test  - British Lions (18) v (15) South Africa - The Lions clinched the series win in dramatic fashion, as Jeremy Guscott landed a drop goal with 4 minutes remaining that provided the winning margin. The Boks out-scored the Lions by 3 tries to zero but they also missed 6 kicks at goal that allowed 5 penalties by Neil Jenkins to keep the Lions in contention. Game 13 - 3rd Test  - British Lions (16) v (35) South Africa - The Boks took all their frustrations out on the Lions in the final game over the series, running in 4 tries to 1 over an injury-ravaged Lions team. Tries from Joost van der Westhuizen, Percy Montgomery, Andre Snyman and Pieter Rossouw did the damage with the lone Lions try coming from Matt Dawson (9, ESPN Classic re-broadcast - 45 minutes hi-lites, 1 Disc, Supersports - Bladen, PAL)

Game 1 -
British Lions (116) @ (10) Western Australia - The Lions recorded their highest ever score, running in 18 tries. The Lions try scorers were Scott Quinnell (3), Dan Luger (3), Robert Howley (2), Neil Back (2), Ian Balshaw (2), Brian O'Driscoll, Will Greenwood, Mark Taylor, Danny Grewcock, Simon Taylor and Austin Healey (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 2 -
British Lions (83) @ (6) Presidents XV
- The Lions broke open a tight game with 73 points in the 2nd half to cruise to their 2nd tour win. The star was Jason Robinson who ran in 5 tries, his first tries in International Rugby Union. The other Lions tries came from Rob Henderson (3), Colin Charvis (2), Dai Young and Malcolm O'Kelly with Neil Jenkins and Matt Perry adding 9 conversions between them. Game 3 -
British Lions (42) @ (8) Queensland Reds
- The Lions continued their winning start to the tour with a big win against the Reds at Ballymore. The Lions ran in 5 tries and Jonny Wilkinson, on his Lions debut, kicked 17 points and set up 3 tries. The Lions tries came from Brian O'Driscoll, Dafydd James, Rob Henderson, Dan Luger and Richard Hill. The Reds featured Elton Flatley, Daniel Herbert, Michael Foley, Nathan Sharpe and Toutai Kefu (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 4 - British Lions (25) @ (28) Australia 'A' - Australia 'A' handed the Lions their 1st tour loss as untimely penalties and ill-discipline caught up with the visitors in Gosford. Australia 'A' dominated the 1st half and went in 15-6 at the break. The hosts extended their lead early in the 2nd half and even though the Lions scored 2 more tries, the lead was too big to overcome. The Australia 'A' try came from Scott Staniforth with Manuel Edmonds kicking 23 points (7 penalties, 1 conversion). The Lions tries came from Matt Perry, Jason Robinson and Mark Taylor (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 5 -
British Lions (41) @ (24) NSW Waratahs
- In a violent game with many angry clashes, the Lions overcame the Waratahs at the Sydney Football Stadium to get the tour back to winning ways. The tone was set in the 1st minute when Australia had a man sent to the sin bin for a swinging arm. But the 2nd half saw the real action as several players were sin-binned and between the 56th and the 66th minutes the game was played between 12 on 13. The biggest punch-up involved Aussie Duncan McCrae, who assaulted the Lions Ronan O'Gara and was sent off. O'Gara left the field covered in blood and needed 8 stitches to an eye injury. For the punch-up, McCrae was subsequently banned for 7 weeks. The Lions try scorers were Jason Robinson (2), Dafydd James, Brian O'Driscoll and Jonny Wilkinson, with Wilkinson contributing 19 points overall. Game 6 -
British Lions (46) @ (3) NSW Country
- The Lions overcame a slow start to finally put away the amateurs and geared up for the 1st Test with a high-scoring win. The 1st Lions try didn't come until the 25th minute but the Lions then scored freely and went in at the half with a 29-3 lead. The 2nd half turned into a sloppy affair but the Lions were never challenged and ran out easy winners. The Lions try scorers were Ben Cohen (2), Scott Gibbs, Austin Healey, Dai Young and Martin Corry, who turned in a man-of-the match performance (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 7 - 1st Test -
British Lions (29) @ (13) Australia
- The World Champion Wallabies were greeted at the Gabba by 12,000 Lions fans and were dominated by an explosive Lions back-line. Australia expected a Forward-inspired attack but the Lions passed the ball at every opportunity and were rewarded with spectacular tries from Jason Robinson and Brian O'Driscoll. Game 8 -
British Lions (30) @ (28) ACT Brumbies
- In a sensational finish, the Lions mid-week team overcame a big deficit at the half to win on the final play of the game. The Lions were down 22-10 at the half but fought back to only trail 28-23 late in the game. As the full-time siren sounded, the Lions had possession and managed to keep the ball alive through 15 phases before Austin Healy cut in from the wing and scored the tieing try, his 2nd of the game. Matt Dawson, who had publicly criticised the team in the newspapers the previous week, converted the try for the winning points and an emotional win. The other Lions try scorer was David Wallace with Matt Dawson also adding 3 penalties. The Brumbies tries came from Mark Bartholomeusz, Willie Gordon and Des Tuiavii. The Brumbies also featured Pat Howard, Justin Harrison and Dan Vickerman (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 9 - 2nd Test -
British Lions (14) @ (35) Australia
- Australia fought back from a 11-6 half-time deficit to even the series. Tries from Joe Roff (2) and Matt Burke along with 6 penalties from Burke sealed the win (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 10 - 3rd Test -
British Lions (23) @ (29) Australia
- Australia clinched the series with Matt Burke kicking 19 points as he earned his 50th cap. Jason Robinson and Johnny Wilkinson each scored tries for the Lions but late penalties from Burke guided the Aussies to the win (8, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Pre-Tour -
Argentina (25) @ (25) British Lions - In a pre-tour friendly, the Pumas stunned the Lions with a strong pack and great defense and the Lions had to rely on a Jonny Wilkinson penalty on the last play to secure the draw (9, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 1 -
British Lions (34) @ (20) Bay of Plenty
- The Lions opened their tour with a tight win in Rotorua. The Lions raced out to a 17-0 lead but when the Lions Lawrence Dallaglio was stretchered off with a dislocated ankle, the Lions lost focus and the hosts roared back to tie the game at 17-17 at the half. The Lions re-focused at the break and dominated the 2nd half to take the win. The Lions try scorers were Josh Lewsey (2), Mark Cueto, Tom Shanklin, Dwayne Peel and Gordon D'Arcy. The Bay of Plenty try scorers were Murray Williams and Colin Bourke (9, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 2 -
British Lions (36) @ (14) Taranaki
- The Lions overcame a slow start to beat Taranaki in New Plymouth. Taranaki held a 7-6 lead at the half but the Lions scored 4 tries in the 2nd half to pull away and take the win. The Lions tries came from Geordan Murphy (2), Shane Horgan and Martin Corry with Charlie Hodgson kicking 16 points. The Taranaki try scorers were Chris Masoe and Brendan Watt and also featured Sailosi Tagicakibau (9, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 3 -
British Lions (13) @ (19) New Zealand Maori
- In a hard-hitting game in Hamilton, the Lions suffered their 1st tour defeat to a strong Maori team, giving the hosts their 1st ever win over the Lions. Both teams were evenly maqtched in the 1st half and went in tied 6-6 at the break. But in the 2nd half, the Maori brough Carlos Spencer off the bench and he inspired them to 13 unaswered points. The Lions scored a late try to close the gap but ran out of time for a come-back. The Maori try scorer was Leon Macdonald. The Lions try scorer was Brian O'Driscoll. The game marked Carlos Spencers' last ever game in New Zealand (9, 2 Discs, SKY - Harrison/Barnes, PAL)

Game 4 -
British Lions (23) @ (6) Wellington
- The Lions got back to winning ways in Wellington with a tough win at the Westpac Stadium. The Lions dominated the game but only led 13-6 at the half. Game 7 - 1st Test - British Lions (3) @ (21) New Zealand - In a torrential downpour in Christchurch, the All Blacks dominated the Lions and secured a 1-0 series lead. The All Blacks controlled the game Offensively and Defensively, forcing turnovers and taking their chances when they arrived. The Lions lost Brian O'Driscoll in the 1st minute to a dislocated shoulder after a controversial lifting tackle from Tana Umaga and Kevin Mealamu and the injury seemed to deflate the Lions who never got into the game. New Zealand led 11-0 at the half and 21-0 after 47 minutes before the Lions scored their only points on a solitary penalty from Jonny Wilkinson. The game petered out as both sides realised the result was never in danger. But the All Blacks stepped up a gear after the break, scoring 13 unanswered points to take control of the game and saw out the rest of the game to take the victory. New Zealand then put the squeeze on the Lions and saw out the game for the series win. - In the rain and wind of Cape Town, the Lions continued their unbeaten streak with a close win over Western Province. - In the rain and cold of Cape Town, the Emerging Springboks snatched a memorable draw with a last play try and conversion. Christian Leali'ifano then kicked the conversion to give the Wallabies the lead. The Lions then suddenly found their try-scoring form and rattled off 22 unanswered points to take the win. The Lions went ahead 22-13 early in the 2nd half but the Highlanders scored 10 unanswered points, including the game-winning penalty with 6 minutes to go, to take the win. The game also marked the 1st time since 2002 that the All Blacks failed to score a try in a home game, as Beauden Barrett kicked 7 penalties. The All Blacks sensationally had Sonny Bill Williams sent off in the 15th minute for a shoulder charge but managed to go in at the break with a 9-9 tie. The 2nd half saw the All Blacks pull away to an 18-9 lead due to the Lions ill-discipline, but the Lions pulled the game back with 2 tries to tie the game at 21-21 with 12 minutes to go. And in the 77th minute, the Lions won another penalty and kicked the game-winner to complete the comeback and even the series. Due to the Covid Pandemic, Japan hadn't played together as a team since 2019 and the rustiness showed as they struggled to put any phases together. The Lions took their chances when they came, opening up a 21-0 lead at the half, and coasted home in the 2nd half. The Lions did suffer 2 major injuries, losing captain Alun Wyn Jones and back-rower Justin Tipuric to shoulder injuries which ruled them out of the tour. Game 2 - Cell C Sharks (7) v (54) British & Irish Lions - After a Covid scare in the team, Game 2 finally happened and the Lions hastily thrown together team ran out surprisingly easy winners. Coach Warren Gatland had to make 8 changes as players were isolating due to the virus outbreak. The Lions ran in 8 tries for the 2nd game running, building a 26-0 lead at the half and coasted home in the 2nd half. Game 3 - Cell C Sharks (31) v (71) British & Irish Lions - The Lions faced the Sharks 3 days after Game 2 and had to work hard to stay unbeaten on the tour. The Sharks replaced the Bulls, who had to pull out due to Covid outbreak in their team. The Sharks took advantage of Lions errors to force a 26-26 draw at the half, but when they lost player to a red card in the 2nd half, the Lions took advantage and ran out easy winners. The Lions tries came from Chris Harris, Jamie George (2), Duhan Van der Merwe, Tadhg Beirne (2), Jack Conan, Elliot Daly, Anthony Watson (2) and Tom Curry. Game 4 - South Africa ‘A’ (17) v (13) British & Irish Lions - A fired-up South Africa 'A' team gave the Lions their 1st loss of the tour with an hard-fought win in Cape Town. A near Test-Strength 'A' team proved too powerful for the Lions in the 1st half and they ran out to a 17-3 lead at the break. As the 'Boks tired in the 2nd half, the Lions fought back into the game but great Defense from the hosts in the final minutes ensured the win. The South Africa 'A' tries came from Sbu Nkosi and Lukhanyo Am. Game 5 - DHL Stormers (3) v (49) British & Irish Lions - The Lions got back to winning ways against the Stormers in Cape Town, running in 7 tries to set themselves up for the 1st Test. The Lions welcomed back tour captain Alun Wyn Jones who had recovered from his shoulder injury to make an appearance off the bench in the 2nd half. The Lions saw off a physical Stormers team in the 1st half and took a 21-3 lead in at the break. In the 2nd half the Lions stepped on the gas, led by Harlequins fly-half Marcus Smith making his Lions debut, and ran in 4 more tries to seal the win. Game 6 - 1st Test - South Africa (17) v (22) British & Irish Lions - The Lions got off to a sensational start in the Test series with a comeback win in Cape Town. In a game of 2 halves, South Africa punished Lions infringements to give the 'Boks a 12-3 lead at the half. In the 2nd half, the roles were reversed and the Lions capitalised on South African ill-discipline to score 4 penalties that gave them the winning margin. The Lions try came from Luke Cowan-Dickie. Game 7 - 2nd Test - South Africa (27) v (9) British & Irish Lions - South Africa fought their way back into the series with a dominant win in Cape Town at the end of an emotional week. South Africa director of rugby Rassie Erasmus had openly questioned the refereeing in the 1st test, and the 'Boks certainly got the rub of the green in the 2nd test with several contentious rulings going in their favour. The Lions took a 9-6 lead in at the half but the Springboks exploded for 21 unanswered points in the 2nd half, scoring 2 tries and kicking 3 penalties to clinch the win. The South Africa tries came from man-of-the-match Makazole Mapimpi and Lukhanyo Am. Game 8 - 3rd Test - South Africa (19) v (16) British & Irish Lions - South Africa clinched the series win in dramatic fashion with a late penalty in Cape Town. The Lions had led 10-6 at half-time but South Africa fought back to a 16-13 lead. Finn Russell, on as a replacement for Dan Biggar, once again levelled the scores but Morne Steyn, off the bench, kicked the game-winning penalty with 2 minutes to play to win the game and the Series, much as he had done in 2009.
