East (110) v (112) West - The West fought back from an 11 point deficit at the half and won the game on a last second jump shot from Lakers star Jerry West. 1987/88
East (138) v (133) West - On his home court, the Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan dominated the game and claimed MVP honours with 40 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 blocks. The East starting line-up was Isiah Thomas (Pistons), Dominique Wilkins (Hawks), Larry Bird (Celtics) and Moses Malone (Bullets) with Patrick Ewing making his All Star Game debut off the bench (9 points). The West were led by Lakers Center Kareem Abdul Jabbar (10 points) who set the All-Time record for points scored in the All Star game (247). West (152) v (113) East - In an emotional night in Orlando, Magic Johnson won MVP honours with a 25 pts / 9 assists game. The All Star game was the only game Magic played all year as he had retired before the season when he discovered he was HIV positive. 2001/02
West (135) v (120) East - The Lakers Kobe Bryant (31 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals) put on a show in his return to his hometown of Philadelphia, becoming the first players to score 30 points in the game sinc 1993. The West roster also featured Shaquille O'Neal (Lakers), Kevin Garnett (Timberwolves) and Tim Duncan (Spurs) and All Star debutants Steve Nash (Mavericks), Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks) and Peja Stojaković (Kings). The East roster featured Vince Carter (Raptors), Allen Iverson (76ers), Michael Jordan (Wizards) and Dikembe Mutombo (76ers). The moment of the game was East Guard Tracy McGrady's spectacular off-the-backboard-back-to-himself dunk. West (155) v (145) East - At the Philips Arena in Atlanta, the Wizards Michael Jordan (20 points, 5 rebounds), in his last All Star game, nearly wrote a fairytale ending as he hit a lead-changing shot with 4.8 seconds left in Overtime. But a foul on a last play shot by the West allowed the game to go into 2 overtimes where the game MVP Kevin Garnett (Timberwolves), closed the deal. Garnett top scored for the West with 37 points. The West roster also featured Kobe Bryant (Lakers), Yao Ming (Rockets) in his 1st All Star game, Tim Duncan (Spurs) and Shaquille O'Neal (Lakers - 19 points, 13 rebounds). The East roster also featured Tracy McGrady (Magic), Allen Iverson (76ers), Vince Carter (Raptors) and Jason Kidd (Nets) (8, 2 Discs, TNT - Albert/Fratello/Van Gundy/Sager, PAL)

2009/10
East (141) v (139) West - The largest crowd ever to watch a Basketball game (108,713) crammed into the new Dallas Cowboys stadium to watch the East beat the West. East Guard Dwayne Wade (Heat - 28 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists) was the games top scorer and claimed the MVP award. The East led 76-69 at the half but a strong 4th quarter put the West into contention and it needed 2 Free-Throws with 5 seconds left by Chris Bosh (Raptors - 23 points, 10 rebounds) to seal the win. The East also featured LeBron James (Cavaliers - 25 points) and Dwight Howard (Magic - 17 points). The West were led by Carmelo Anthony (Nuggets - 27 points, 10 rebounds), Amare Stoudemire (Suns - 12 points, 10 rebounds) and home-town favourite Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks - 22 points). Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul, both selected to play, missed the game with injuries (10, 2 Discs, TNT - Albert/Collins/Miller, PAL)

2011/12
West (152) v (149) East - In the 1st All Star game to be played in Orlando for 20 years, it was the West that used a big defensive play to stop the surging East team from winning the game. Led by MVP Kevin Durant (Thunder - 36 points) and Kobe Bryant (Lakers - 27 points), the West took a 21 point lead into the 2nd half before the East, led by LeBron James (Heat - 36 points) and Dwayne Wade (heat - 24 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) staged a comeback. With the West holding a 1 point lead in the final seconds, Blake Griffin (Clippers - 22 points) forced a turnover for the West that halted the charge and the West held on for the win. With his 27 points, Kobe became the all time points scoring leader in the All Star game (271 points), overtaking Michael Jordan. The West also featured Chris Paul (Clippers - 12 assists) and Russell Westbrook (Thunder - 21 points). The East also featured Carmelo Anthony (Knicks - 19 points) and Derrick rose (Bulls - 14 points). The game also featured a hard foul to the face by Dwayne Wade on Kobe Bryant that broke Kobe's nose (10, 2 Discs, TNT - Albert/Kerr/Miller, PAL)

East (163) v (155) West - On a record-setting night in New Orleans, the East ended a 3 game losing skid to the West in the highest-scoring All Star game ever. Both teams set 11 new All Star game records including most 3 pointers by 1 player (Carmelo Anthony - 8). The game was a shootout for 3 quarters but the East played great Defense in the 4th quarter to keep the West from winning and claimed the win. The East were led by MVP Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers - 31 points, 14 assists), Carmelo Anthony (Knicks - 30 points), LeBron James (Heat - 22 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists) and Joakim Noah (Bulls - 8 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists). The West featured Stephen Curry (Warriors - 12 points, 11 assists) in his 1st All Star game, Kevin Durant (Thunder - 38 points, 10 rebounds), Blake Griffin (Clippers - 38 points) and Chris Paul (Clippers - 11 points, 13 assists) but were missing Kobe Bryant to injury (10, 2 Discs, TNT - Albert/Kerr/Miller, PAL)

2014/15
West (163) v (158) East - On a record-setting night in New York, the West re-claimed the All Star trophy in the highest-scoring All Star game ever. The teams combined for 48 3-pointers, an All Star game record. After a tight 1st half, the West went in at the break with an 83-82 lead. The 2nd half was equally as tight until the final 4 minutes when the West pulled away for the win. The West were led by MVP Russell Westbrook (Thunder - 41 points), James Harden (Rockets - 29 points), Chris Paul (Clippers - 12 points, 15 assists) and Marc Gasol (Grizzlies - 6 points, 10 rebounds. The East featured LeBron James (Cavaliers - 30 points, 7 assists), Kyle Korver (Hawks - 21 points), John Wall (Wizards - 19 points, 7 assists) and Carmello Anthony (Knicks - 14 points) but were missing Kobe Bryant, Anthony Davis and Blake Griffin due to injury (10, 2 Discs, TNT - Albert/Miller/Webber, PAL)

2015/16
West (196) v (173) East - The first NBA All Star game to be played outside of the USA turned into a record-setting game, as the West All Stars retained their title. The game set several Offensive records : Most combined points (369), Most points by 1 team in the 1st half (West, 92), Most 3 pointers by 1 player (Paul George, 9). The game also marked the final All Star game for Kobe Bryant (Lakers - 10 points, 7 assists). Russell Westbrook (Thunder - 31 points) claimed MVP honours, becoming the 1st player to repeat as sole MVP. The West also featured Chris Paul (Clippers - 14 points, 16 assists) , Stephen Currry (Warriors - 26 points), Kevin Durant (Thunder - 23 points) and James Harden (Rockets - 23 points). The East featured Paul George (Pacers - 41 points), John Wall (Wizards - 22 points), LeBron James (Cavaliers - 13 points, 7 assists) and Kyle Lowry (Raptors - 14 points, 10 assists) (10, 3rd quarter is from a next-day re-broadcast but is complete, 2 Discs, TNT - Albert/Miller/Webber/Sager/Aldridge, PAL)

2016/17
West (192) v (182) East - The West continued their winning streak against the East with both teams combining for the highest scoring NBA All Star game ever. The star for the West was Anthony Davis (Pelicans - 52 points, 10 rebounds) whose 52 points set an All Star game record. The West also featured Russell Westbrook (Thunder - 41 points, 7 assists), Kevin Durant (Warriors - 21 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists), James Hardens (Rockets - 12 points, 12 assists) and Stephen Curry (Warriors - 21 points). The East featured Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks) (30 points), LeBron James (Cavaliers) (23 points) and Kyrie Irving (22 points, 14 assists) (10, 2 Discs, TNT - Albert/Miller/Webber, PAL)

2023/24
West (186) v (211) East - For the first time since 2017 the NBA reverted to the East v West format, and in a record-setting game at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the West beat the East in a shootout. The game set records for most points ever scored by a team (211), most combined points scored (397) and three-point field goals made (67). The Game MVP was Damian Lillard (Bucks - points). The East also featured Jaylen Brown (Celtics - 36 points), Tyrese Haliburton (Pacers - 32 points) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks - 23 points). The West featured Karl-Anthony Towns (Timberwolves - 50 points), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder - 31 points), Nikola Jokic (Nuggets - 13 points), Luka Doncic (Mavericks - 7 points) and Lebron James (Lakers - 8 points) (9, 2 Discs, TNT - Anderson/Parker/Miller, PAL)

2024/25
All Star Weekend - Slam Dunk Competition - Mac McClung of the Orlando Magic made history as the first player to win 3 consecutive NBA Slam Dunk Contests, taking the title with four dunks that were scored a perfect 50 by the judges. McClung's dunks included jumping over a Kia K5 car, dunking 2 balls at the same time and tapping the rim after jumping over Cavs All-Star Evan Mobley (8, 50 minutes, 1 Disc, TNT - Harlan/Miller/Carter/Smith, PAL)

All Star Game - In a change to the format, the nominated All Stars were split into 3 teams + a 4th team made up of players from the Rising Stars competition, and played in a knockout tournament to find a winning team. The 4 teams were coached by Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Candace Parker. The winners were Shaq's OGs who consisted of Jayson Tatum (Celtics), Kevin Durant (Suns), Stephen Curry (Warriors), James Harden (Clippers), Damian Lillard (Bucks), Jaylen Brown (Celtics) and Kyrie Irving (Mavericks). Curry claimed the MVP award. LeBron James was selected to play for the OGs but didn't take part as he was injured. This was the first All Star Game he missed in his career.
