02/09/95 - Northwestern (17) @ (15) Notre Dame - Northwestern stunned Notre Dame with their 1st win over the Irish since 1962. Northwestern QB Steve Schnur (14-28-166-2) and RB Darnell Autry (33-165) did the damage (9, 2 Discs, NBC - Hammond/Trumpy/Dockery, PAL)

16/09/95 - Tennessee (37) @ (62) Florida - Tennessee jumped out to a 30-14 lead on the arm of QB Peyton Manning (23-35-326-2) and looked certain to end their bad record against the Gators. But, as the heavens opened and the rain came down, the Gators mounted a comeback. Florida QB Danny Wuerffel (29-39-381-6) led the offense to 48 unanswered points and the Gators had the win (8, 2 Discs, Sportschannel - Steele/Yarbrough/Babik, PAL)

Mississippi State (14) @ (52) Tennessee
- Tennessee rebounded from their big loss to Florida with a resounding win against the Bulldogs. Tennessee QB Peyton Manning (21-35-235-0) led the way, helped by RB Jay Graham (24-126-2) and solid special teams play. Mississippi State were led by WR Eric Moulds (15-183-1) who had a career day catching the ball (8, Missing opening Kick-Off of the 2nd half, 2 Discs, ABC - Gannon/Brant, PAL)

23/09/95 -
Stanford (28) @ (21) Oregon
- Stanford upset the #12 ranked Ducks despite conceding 454 yards of total offense. Stanford, under first year Head Coach Tyrone Willingham, used steady offense, strong defense and a 96 yard kick-off return TD by WR Marlon Evans to seal the win. Oregon were led by QB Tony Graziani (26-50-292-2), who was making his first start at home, but his 3 interceptions led to Stanford TD's (9, 2 Discs, Prime - Physioc/Gault, PAL)

07/10/95 - Texas A&M (7) @ (14) Texas Tech - Tech LB Zach Thomas stole the game from 8th ranked Texas A&M with a 23 yard interception return for a TD with only 30 seconds remaining which ended the Aggie's 29 game unbeaten conference record. 14/10/95 - Notre Dame (28) v (27) Army - #17 ranked Notre Dame stopped a great Army comeback as they thwarted a 2 point play with 39 seconds left that would have won the game. Notre Dame raced out to a 21-7 lead at the half but 2nd half turnovers allowed Army back in the game. Notre Dame were led by QB Ron Powlus (8-19-189-1) and RB Autry Denson (23-111-2). Army were led by QB Ronnie McAda (5-9-42-2 + 17-77-0), RB's John Conroy (31-104-2) and Ron Thomas (15-157-0) and DB Jim Cantelupe (7, Slightly wavy picture, 2 Discs, ABC - Twibell/Holloway, NTSC)

14/10/95 -
Tennessee (41) @ (14) Alabama
- In his first start in the big rivalry, Tennessee QB Peyton Manning (20-29-301-3) showed no fear, throwing an 80 yard TD pass on the first play of the game and finished with 3 TD passes and 1 rushing TD. RB Jay Graham (17-114-1 inc. a 75 yard TD run) provided a strong running game. Alabama were led by QB Freddie Kitchens (20-43-204-1) (8, 2 Discs, ESPN - Franklin/Gottfried/Adamle, NTSC)

14/10/95 - Florida (49) @ (38) Auburn - #3 ranked Florida avenged their 1994 loss to the Tigers with a dominating win in Jordan-Hare stadium. Florida went down 10-0 in the 1st quarter before QB Danny Wuerffel (20-34-380-4) rallied his team and pushed them out to a 42-20 lead in the 3rd quarter. A late rally from Auburn QB Patrick Nix (15-37-219-1) wasn't enough to worry the Gators and they held on for the win. Florida also featured WR's Reidel Anthony (90 yard kick-off return TD) and Chris Doering (3 TD catches), RB Fred Taylor (17-111-1), DL Ed Chester, LB James Bates and DB Fred Weary. Auburn also featured RB Stephen Davis (8, Bad tracking in the 1st quarter + occasional edited out dead-time throughout the game, 1 Disc, ABC - Gannon/Brant/Spagnola, NTSC)

02/11/95 -
Florida State (28) @ (33) Virginia - #24 ranked Virginia finally won a close game as the Cavaliers defense stopped FSU RB Warrick Dunn at the goal-line on the final play of the game. The stars of the game were Virginia RB Tiki Barber (31-193-2) and QB Mike Groh (19-37-302-2). Florida State QB Danny Kannell (32-67-454-2) had a big game for the #2 ranked Seminoles (9, ESPN 2 hour 30 minute re-broadcast missing action in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters but no scoring, 2 Discs, ESPN - Nessler/Danielson, PAL)

04/11/95 - Stanford (30) @ (31) USC - In a shootout in the Coliseum, USC overcame a slow start to beat Stanford and take poll position in the race for the Rose Bowl. Stanford started quickly, using big games from QB Mark Butterfield (345 yds + 2 TD's), WR Mark Harris (60 yard TD catch) and the Special Teams (Blocked Punt) to take a 24-17 lead at the half. But USC, led by QB Kyle Wacholtz, RB Rodney Sermons and WR Keyshawn Johnson, used a big 4th quarter to only trail by 5 with 2:57 left. Wacholtz and Johnson then combined to take the Trojans to the Cardinal 8 yard line where Johnson gave USC the lead with a 3rd down TD catch. Keyshawn Johnson then went onto Defense and batted away a last play "Hail Mary" pass at the Goal-Line to seal the win. USC started the game with QB Brad Otton before Wacholtz came in in the 2nd quarter. USC also featured DL Darrell Russell and DB's Brian Kelly and Sammy Knight. Coverage is briefly interrupted in the 2nd Quarter with a news cut-in of Yitzhak Rabin's assination. No scoring missed (8, 1 Disc, ABC - Jones/Blackledge/Blevins, PAL)

25/11/95 -
Ohio State (23) @ (31) Michigan - Michigan upset #2 Ohio State behind the rushing of RB Tshimanga Biakabutuka (37-313-1) whose 313 yards were the most ever given up by Ohio State. The Buckeyes Heisman hopeful, RB Eddie George rushed for 104 yards on 21 carries. The loss knocked the Buckeyes out of the Rose Bowl (8, 2 Discs, ABC - Jones/Blackledge/Blevins, PAL)

02/12/95 -
Army (14) v (13) Navy
- Army extended their win streak over Navy to 4 games after scoring the wining TD with 1 minute left. Army had held Navy on 4th and goal at their 1 yard line before marching 99 yards to the winning score. Army were led by QB Ronnie McAda and Navy were led by QB Chris McCoy (8, 2 Discs, ABC - Jones/Blackledge/Blevins, PAL)

27/12/95 - Copper Bowl -
Air Force (41) v (55) Texas Tech
- In a wild offensive game, Texas Tech used a strong passing attack in the 1st half and a strong rushing attack in the 2nd half to beat a game Air Force team. Texas Tech QB Zebbie Lethridge (22-41-245-1) and RB Byron Hanspard (24-260-4) had big games on offense and All American LB Zach Thomas and DB Marcus Coleman had big games on defense (8, missing 1st Tech drive and TD, 2 Discs, ESPN - Nessler/Danielson, PAL)

29/12/95 - Independence Bowl -
LSU (45) v (26) Michigan State
- In a game of big plays, LSU rallied from a 3 point deficit at the half with 24 unanswered points in the 2nd half to win the game. The MVP was LSU Freshman RB Kevin Faulk (25-234-2). LSU scored on a 92 yard kick-off return and a TD run of 51 yards. Michigan State scored on a 78 yard TD pass and a 100 yard kick-off return. LSU featured QB Herb Tyler (10-20-164-1), WR Eddie Kennison (5-124-1) and LB Allen Stansbury (18 tackles). Michigan State featured QB Tony Banks (22-44-348-1) and WR's Mushin Muhammad (9-171-1) and Derrick Mason (6-74-0) (8, 2 Discs, ESPN - Punch/Lewis, PAL)

01/01/96 - Citrus Bowl - Tennessee (20) v (14) Ohio State - In a match-up of 11-1 teams, it was the Vols of Tennessee that came out winners, beating the Buckeyes in the rain in Orlando. Ohio State started the better but Tennessee fought their way back into the game and the teams went in tied 7-7 at the half. Both teams were evenly matched in the 2nd half too but the Vols Defense put the squeeze on the Buckeyes running attack and the Vols used 2 FG's in the 4th quarter to pull away and take the win. Tennessee featured QB Peyton Manning (20-35-182-1), RB Jay Graham (26-154-1) and WR Joey Kent (7-109-1). Ohio State featured QB Bobby Hoying (19-38-246-1), RB Eddie George (25-101-1) and WR Terry Glenn (7-95-0) (8, 2 Discs, ABC - Musberger/Vermeil, NTSC)

01/01/96 - Rose Bowl -
USC (41) v (32) Northwestern
- #3 ranked Northwestern's cinderella season ended in a close defeat to the #17 ranked Trojans. USC used a strong passing game to win, led by QB Brad Otton (29-44-391-2) and WR Keyshawn Johnson (12-216-1). The 216 yards was a Rose Bowl record for receiving yardage. Northwestern rallied from a 17 point deficit to lead in the 4th quarter behind the rushing of RB Darnell Autry (32-110-3) but a late FG and TD from USC sealed the win (9, 2 Discs, ABC - Jackson/Griese/Swann, PAL)

02/01/96 - Fiesta Bowl -
Florida (24) v (62) Nebraska - In one of the most dominant National Championship games ever, the Cornhuskers won their 2nd consecutive title with a 524 yard rushing peformance against the #2 ranked Gators. Nebraska QB Tommie Frazier (6-14-105-1 + 16-199-2), in his last game, was awesome and he was aided by RB Lawrence Phillips (25-165-2). Florida QB Danny Wuerffel (17-31-255-1) did his best but 3 interceptions were too much to overcome (8, 2 Discs, CBS - Nantz/Donahue, PAL)
